Crash Bandicoot Returns is back!

Hi everybody !

I announce the resumption of the project but this time with a new team (under research) and a new engine.

Until now I was working with the CryEngine but after several attempts and significant problems with animations and integration of the characters, I decided to change the engine and switch to Unreal Engine 4.

Why ? For a variety of reasons, starting with the fact that it is a very well-oiled engine, much more used than the CryEngine and above, it can do more things and more intuitively. Not to mention the visual rendering that is closer to the Crash universe.

With the CryEngine it took no less than 3 months of hard to succeed just import the Crash 3D model into the engine. With the Unreal Engine, it took me around 10 minutes, including coffee.

Then there are many more possibilities and interesting plugins like NeoFur or SpeedTree, which allow to greatly improve the visual but also made to work more effectively.

Finally, I think it will be easier to find team members working with the Unreal Engine, rather than with CryEngine.

However, for the moment I only seek a new team and I am actively working on the new engine to learn the basics. However, I research a priority a new animator familiar with the Unreal Engine to work primarily on the gameplay.

For the rest, I research different people for different positions:

  • 3D modelers
  • Animators
  • Storyboarders
  • Texturers

All vacancies currently available in the Jobs section.

Awesome news to hear! I definitely wish I could be of some help, though I'm currently just learning modelling and animation myself, and doubt I'd be any good as of yet. But I definitely look forward to seeing the development of this game!
