Introduction to the game


Hello everyone,

I am Wolf, I am the project manager and team leader of the Colorless World game series. Let me start off the devlog by saying that we hope to update you all with a demo as soon as possible and that this is only one of two games that you can expect from us, current release date is hopefully sometime next year. Now with that quick intro out of the way, lets get into the bulk of today's devlog.

Colorless World, what is it?:
Colorless World is a game project I personally came up with a story for about two years ago when I was looking to make my first video game. Granted the game went through a bit of a hiatus for a while before we got to where we are now. But it is shaping up to be what I hope will be a great game for the rest of it's development time.

What Genres is the game set in?:
Colorless World takes a few different genres and concepts and puts them together into one game. We wanted to experiment with something new, something that players will enjoy and come back to play for hours and not have to worry about any greedy practices or anything like that. The game's current design is focused around platforming, though it will take open world, puzzle solving and a few other genres and put them together to work. We will have many aspects that we will talk about more in a future devlog, for now this is what we are going to cover for you guys in this first devlog.

What's the story of the game?:
Long ago, the ancients lived in a world filled with color, it was a world that was joyful and happy. Many people who lived under the rule of the ancients prospered and flourished making their planet into a happy and peaceful one. but one day while the ancients and the high ancients were having a meeting, the highest ancient of them all decided that they would no longer have color in the world and would thus banish it to a far away place where they thought no one could find it and make people conform to a new non-colorless world. The ancients in the meeting overwhelmingly agreed with this idea and set out taking the color from the world turning it from a once happy and peaceful place into a place of great sorrow and depression, those who had once been prosperous under the rule of the ancients now fell into despair and poverty. Once all the color was taken away from the world it was put into a machine and then hidden in the place that they thought no one would be able to find it. They then set upon making the people that they ruled over conform to the new non-colorless world and for a time they managed to do just that. Then one day, one person decided that he did not want to conform to the world as he currently knew it and wanted to bring back the color to the world, so he set out on a quest to find the color that had been taken from the world. He managed to find the place that the ancients had hidden the color and walked over to it, touching it with his finger. When he had touched the colors with his finger he started to notice that his hand was getting colored, he soon became colorful and started to feel the rush of emotions that the colors had held for so long waiting for someone to come and recover them. Once he was fully colored he knew what he had to do, he knew his quest: take down the ancients who had taken the color away from the world and restore the color back to the world he lived in.

What will be in the game?:
The game will have many things in it, many hours of fun. The game will have puzzles to solve, bosses to defeat, and many more things to come. It will also have an open world hub which we will talk about in a future devlog, for now let's just say that it will include many things in it.

Our ambitions as a team for the game:
The ambitions of the team for the game is that it will be enjoyable for all of you, no greedy tactics, nothing like that, just a quality game that will give you plenty of hours of fun and enjoyment and replayability for as long as you wish to come back and play it before.
