It's an objective based multiplayer shooter. There are 2 teams fighting each other to get there objectives. The player has to either attack and conqueror objectives or defend them. We are a group of students from the Netherlands. Our goal is to make a fun game that you can play with friends or jump in and play a short round. We wanted to create our own game within a half year. We have now worked on the project for a year and are done with ths "final" Alpha release containing 3 Classes and 2 maps.
Classified Alpha Gameplay Trailer
Major improvements since last video. Actually looks fun and the art assets for the levels look really nice too. Keep it up!
I seriously think you guys should consider going first person. The third person view just looks...off. It's still impressive though, and it looks really fun to play.
If only we had the time :(, people are now working on it in offhours so maybe the option will get added in the future.
I understand :P
But may I ask why the team chose to do third person in the first place? I would assume because the cartoony style fits in, and the player assets are very 'cute' so to speak. However, I think the first person view would allow for more of a hardcore feel, while still showing off your characters. Regardless of what you choose, I will play it. :D
3rd person was chosen because it is less common in shooters and as you mentioned it fitted the art and play styles nicely. We wanted to create a game that is meant for casual players and can be picked up easy for half a hour and then dropped again.
Besides that the original intent was to have allot of trinkets and artwork per class on the characters back as well, this however was one of the things cut when deadlines drew closer.
Looks great.
I hope design and animation of soldiers and weapons are WIP, because they are not so cool as level design, IMHO. The same goes for lighting...
P.S. Zoom sounds from Halo? ))
The whole game is still WIP and could use allot of polishing, some areas more than others. And yes :P due to the lack of a proper audio artist most sounds were added the last week(s) and are 90% of the time pitched free sounds or non licensed sounds.
