Hello again,

We have much to impart this week, but as usual, let's start with the big question: "When will alpha testing start?" Well, we're slowly starting to narrow that down. We've gone from just July in general to mid-July. That's less than 2 months! And of course, once a more precise date is determined, you, dear subscribers, will be among the very first to know!

The cityscapes and dungeons of City of Steam have also been injected with a healthy dose of lifeblood: musical scores!Composer Daniel Sadowski, chosen for the outstanding quality and uniqueness of his work, has delivered an amazing soundtrack for City of Steam. From the mesmerizing sound of the City of Steam intro to the urgency of "Riven's Flight", Sadowski's works capture the feel of their respective scenes perfectly! The City of Steam Original Soundtrack has been made available on iTunes as of today! At this early stage, we'd love your support in getting City of Steam off the ground, and even allow us to buy some more coffee! For other great samples of Daniel's music, head to his site, here: Soundrama.com

Another bit of game goodness is the Player Stash! The stash will act as an underground dwarven vault system, a sort of access terminal for easy access for your stuff throughout the various maps and levels. No need to lug around every single piece of junk [*ahem*: "treasure"] you find; let the Dwarves sort 'em out!

Recently, the usually quiet Greg came out of hiding to get in front of a camera and explain some of the in-house tools we use to create the intricate Dungeons in City of Steam. Check him out here.

We've also smoothed out the Death Animations. Where they were once drawn out and over-dramatic, they are now much shorter and to-the-point (i.e. boss monsters no longer guilt-trip you into feeling sorry for killing them).

Well, that's the gist of it for now. As always, you can get extra details and more on our website! If you have any comments or suggestions regarding the progress of City of Steam, do share! The website and forums are open to all, and we, as developers, actually do take player feedback to heart. Be sure to drop by and let us know your thoughts!

All the best,
