Call of Saregnar is an old-school adventure RPG featuring a deep storyline, party-based first-person exploration, turn-based 3rd person tactical combat and 90's-inspired 3D graphics.
This week – apart from a very busy family life – I fiddled with shadows and lighting for that extra sweetness in the morning and afternoon hours. With help from the Unity community I also got a custom shader working for the cross-billboard trees to make them look more realistic and less... crossed.
Apart from the visual stuff I went to implement a messaging system tying in some of the game's subsystems together with the progress of time. This allows me to have time-based events, like consumption of food on a timely basis, restoration and degradation of vital characters' attributes like health and endurance, etc.
