Bury Me, My Love is a text message based interactive fiction. It tells the story of Nour, a young Syrian woman who has decided to leave her homeland in order to find refuge in Europe. Her husband Majd remained in Syria; he will attempt, through a WhatsApp-like messaging app, to advise her as best he can so that she reaches her destination safely. You, the player, are here to help him in his endeavor. Bury Me, My Love is a “reality-inspired game”: even though it is a work of fiction, the story experienced therein is directly informed by the accounts of migrants who have attempted to enter Europe. It is designed to be as realistic as possible.
