STEP 1 (2009/12/03)

I just started working on a new theme: underground.
For now, I'm focusing on the tiles:

There's still much to do, as many tiles are still missing and the rest is not in its final form yet. Stay tuned...

PAUSE (2009/12/09)

Since the last update I've been busy with update8 and The Christmas BOH Under The Tree, so I couldn't work on the theme - but I'm about to resume. Before proceeding, I thought I might show you how the tiles created so far look in the game (there's still much to do).

STEP 8 (2009/12/19)

I grew tired of drawing passages and inspiration somewhat dried up, so I decided to give the theme a proper menu:

(there are a few glitches that I fixed after capturing the screenshot, but anyway...)

step 9 (2009/12/20)

Resumed work on tiles.
Changes:
* added first set of one-way passages;
* added entrance and exit.

STEP 10 (2009/12/21)

Tiles are finished!
Changes:
* retouched a few tiles;
* added locked passages and second set of one-way passages.

Now on to the sprites...

STEP 11 (2009/12/22)

Before tackling sprites, I took care of some sound effects - not much is left to do.
Then, I focused on sprites and started with something easy: for the main character, I decided to re-use the graphics of the default theme, so I just changed the palette and made a few minor changes. I'm not sure whether I'll keep this palette - I need to have a look at it after a break - but the result (to be considered in the context of the tiles) is quite OK:

(the white spots are just placeholders for enemies sprites).

STEP 12 (20091223)

Changes:
* replaced character on menu background;
* created more sound samples;
* retouched main floor tiles;
* retouched a few sprites;
* added some enemies sprites.

STEP 13 (2009/12/24)

Changes:
* added more sound samples;
* added more sprites;
* retouched some sprites.

The theme is almost done!
Still missing:
* 1 enemy class (and I have no idea of what it will consist in yet);
* ambient sound;
* menu soundtrack.

STEP 14 (20091226)

Sprites and sounds finished!
Changes:
* added missing sprites and sound effects;
* retouched some sprites.

STEP 15 (2009/12/28)

Theme finished!
Changes:
* added menu soundtrack;
* retouched a few tiles.

STEP 16 (2010/03/16)

After a few months, I decided to retouch the fixed light and the summoning point tiles.

Plenty of in-game screenshots can be found in the gallery.
