A demake of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines in 2D pixelart.

Weekly update on Bloodhunt devlog. I've reworked the portraits of the female Nosferatu and Malkavian characters.

Posted by on

Let's face the ugliness of the situation. I'm making a portrait of a female Nosferatu. In pixelart. Somehow it turns out too pretty. Maybe I couldn't portray the little details that haunt me most. Her pointy teeth. Her rat-like ears. And her unspeakable stench. I whish I could forget that poisonous smell. The devil is the details or so they say. I think I'm gonna puke again. Sorry.

Also, I've spent some time with the female Lunatic. She was too young and sexy. Now she's a patched version of Emilie Autumn. Subconscious reference I guess. Also, I have just realized a typo in Dementation.

And a little GIF to wrap the post. Basically, it's the new characters and a small preview of the dialog system. Note that all characters blink while in idle to add a bit of realism.

Nice update, Emanuel!

About the Nosferatu, try to deform her body a little bit more, and lower the brightness and/or saturation of the skin color. Also, most of the times the Nosferatu are bald (this will lower her appearence a lot). :)

I know, I know :P I was trying to avoid the bald Nosfi cliché since their curse is not necessarily related to hair loss but hideousness in a general sense. I'll try to add some horrid movement to her body and animations. Thanks for the comments :D

the blink eyes really bring some 'real' feel

Yeah, I'm also considering some other subtle expressions for surprise, sadness, laughter and other emotions that characters may show during dialogs or at specific gameplay moments (such as a Humanity loss dice roll).
