Now I have released the first demo! Find it in the downloads page or follow the link:
It demonstrates the features in my engine, but does not have any game-play. I think it's important to point this out so that you are not too disappointed at the lack of game-play. It's more correct to call it a sandbox or tech demo. I will start working on game-play after this and hopefully there will be results soon. I know I have some difficulties to get past before game-play can make it in, but I'm thinking about taking some shortcuts to speed it up. Things may look a bit weird meanwhile, but I think it might be worth it, and then I can return to polish the things I skipped over.
Already there are a couple more features that are very close to complete that I will likely throw into the demo in the next few weeks. Then I will put up a new version of the sandbox, but work on game-play will still be going on aside that.
Anyway, please download the demo, and if you encounter any problems or have suggestions please post them here and I will reply best I can. I hope you will enjoy it!
Can you maybe make the player get thrown back some more. After all the bullet hits him with full velocity and it looks like he's just ragdolling. If he would "fly" a little more to the right when he's hit it would look more realistic to me.
The gun in the demo is the weakest one in the game. Realism is what I'm striving for and I'm quite happy with the current state. Have a look in some of my videos where there is a shotgun used and more energy involved, I think that is closer to what you expect. Nevertheless I'll take this into consideration - thanks!
I'll admit I had some fun executing this poor bastard over and over.
Glad to hear that. He has died many times... :)
I love the physics and the way the bullet slices chunks out of the guy. Nice work! Looking forwards to see how this progresses.
