The on-going space voxel project by the six sibling studio, ZanMgt! A labor of love, Blockade Runner is an ever-evolving development that's currently undergoing a major engine overhaul to provide a solid foundation for the game's bi-weekly builds. We've found the bi-weekly builds to be an enjoyable and healthy development cycle and are anxiously preparing the game for their return!

Description

A visual timeline of Blockade Runner's development from 2011 to 2013, via the Gource repository visualizer! (https://code.google.com/p/gource/)

Since our last release (W71) there have been two massive re-codings. The first re-coding (W84-108) put the game on a robust multiplayer foundation (taking heed Minecraft's own overhauls for MP), and the second re-coding (W108-W148) to transition out of XNA and into SharpDX, granting us DirectX10/11 performance capabilities, .NET 4.5 for multi-core support, and a total modernization of BR's 2D/3D pipelines for considerably easier development.

Thanks to your continued patience and support, Zack, Nathan, and Gabe have been able to spend 2013 whipping BR's hand-built engine into a much meaner, leaner beast. We're getting close to a return to bi-weekly builds, and with some major engine advancements still on the horizon for the spring of next year (particularly in the modding department), 2014 is going to be an exciting year for Blockade Runner! ^^
