Beasts of Bermuda is a multiplayer game hosting large servers in which the player becomes a dinosaur or other prehistoric creature. The player becomes part of a living, player-created ecosystem. The ultimate objective is to survive on one of the islands within Bermuda, an enigmatic island chain constantly threatened by fierce storms and haunted by ancient beasts. Welcome, and this is our first news post for Beasts of Bermuda! I will first be briefly introducing our game here to Indie DB, but much more information can be found on our website or by joining our Discord. So, what is Beasts of Bermuda?

Beasts of Bermuda is a multiplayer game hosting large servers in which the player is a dinosaur or other prehistoric creature. The maps have many, potentially dozens of players online at any given time. A player can take the role of flyers, swimmers, herbivores, carnivores, and semi-aquatic creatures that fulfill different niches in the ecosystem. No matter what the player chooses to be, the objective of the game is to survive on the islands of Bermuda by using their particular creature's abilities. Predation from other players as well as intense environmental events are the antagonistic forces in the game the player must survive against.

Tornado and Storm

We currently offer the ability to play as Velociraptor, Utahraptor, Megalosaurus, Ichthyovenator, Acrocanthosaurus, Apatosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Elasmosaurus, Mosasaurus, and Pteranodon. Confirmed additions are Tyrannosaurus Rex, Anatosaurus, Lurdusaurus, Thalassodromaeus, Saurosuchus, and Kronosaurus. We plan to expand tremendously into the aquatic and flyer niches.

We just launched our Kickstarter to raise funds to develop our game to a point we feel it is ready for a Steam release. People who back our Kickstarter will get exclusive early access to our game prior to Steam release along with many other rewards such as our feathered Tyrannosaurus Rex (concept art by Choux).

Beasts of Bermuda is still under development. We will be releasing our game onto Steam as an Early Access title in the near future, though an exact ETA has yet to be determined. Feel free to join our Discord if you have any questions or wish to follow us while we continue development!

It has come to my attention that the game Beasts of Bermuda, has obtained a staff team which lacks the quality of effective due diligence, thorough investigative skills, analysis, and systematic evaluation. There seems to be some favoritism and/or corruption in the small team with them “turning a blind eye” when provided information regarding reports of harassment towards a minor within the community. It seems that they have claimed to investigate the situation and have reached a resolution resulting in providing “suitable punishment” for all offending parties. I have attempted to find out what “suitable punishment” the parties have received but unfortunately, from what I have gathered, that statement was, what looks to be, false, wrongfully one sided, and has potential to be misconstrued. I have come to find that Beasts of Bermuda officials had the victim’s server shut down and the accused harasser put in a higher position to represent Beasts of Bermuda. At that point higher authority staff, such as the Lead Developer for Beasts of Bermuda, began recommending other members within the victims server to join another server. While reaching out to gather more information on the situation, I was met with the refusal to provide ANY information regarding the reasoning for a heavily one sided decision. With the lack of discovery, proof, or evidence being provided, leads me to believe that Beasts of Bermuda staff and officials are not only hiding information, but also condoning acts of harassment towards minors by allowing the accused harasser to represent Beasts of Bermuda, receive additional support, and continue running a Beasts of Bermuda community server. This matter can ultimately affect the overall gameplay and mechanics due to the lack of investigative qualities. This ties into how the official staff handles situations within the game community which could potentially severely drop the number of players, making this review relevant and within Steams Guidelines for Reviews. That information will be provided in the google link pasted above this paragraph.

It is still unclear as to what the intentions and motives are for this situation, however, this can be systematically damaging to the growth of the Beasts of Bermuda. The lack of due diligence and investigative skills, will lead to the downfall of Beast of Bermuda’s popularity if not corrected. While trying to connect with supporters, users, and customers, it is best to learn those traits and drastically improve on the skill. Otherwise, any situation that arises will not have a solid outcome, but instead turn into another, "turning a blind eye" situation.
