Barons(working title) is a solo project WIP that blends traditional tower defense strategy with top-down style shooter action. In a city devastated by a mutative viral outbreak, the last survivors are the financial and political elite. These new world robber barons have taken to the rooftops of their respective skyscrapers. While the masses suffer and parish beneath them, the barons prepare their fortresses.

In this vid I play through about 8 waves of the game. Unfortunately I had some issues trying to record multiplayer in a standalone game. But I can play networked games no problem using the webplayer version of the game. I'll make sure the next vid I make is multiplayer, as the game is developed primarily for multiplayer, with singleplayer being a modified version of the multiplayer code.

Weapons shown: pistol, sledge, shotgun, rifle.
Not shown: crossbow and baseball bat.

Turrets shown: gun turret and rejuv turret, as well as all of their upgrades.
Not shown: AoE turret that I need to balance and model

A lot of the visuals are placeholder, including almost all of the GUI elements, the building exteriors, and the enemy models. Once I have a better idea of all enemy types that will be in the game, I'll model my own but for now I'm using free to use enemy models.

Player models and most of the interior game area models are self made and probably what I'll use in the final game.

The 3 enemy types in the video are:
1) Walkers, who are the medium sized enemies. These guys walk at the player and attack when in melee range. In future they will increase walk speed gradually to avoid the issue of infinite kiting.

2) Scavengers, who are the small enemies that go straight for the stash (medical cooler for doctor character, gold safe for banker). Scavengers will began performing random rolls to see what type of material they will steal from the stash (if any).

3) Chargers, who are the big enemies. These guys, as their name suggests, will charge the player if they are within range.

Two future enemy types are Dozers, who will target structures and force players to think about their mazing tactics, and Boomers who will explode based upon a timer.
