We've been officially developing Aztez for a year now and I wanted to make a new dev play to show off our progress before we get back on it in 2013. This one focuses on our new and horrifying enemy types.
Hope you enjoy!
Aztez is the marriage of turn based strategy and deep beat 'em up combat. Set in the world of the Precolumbian Mesoamerica at the birth of the Aztec civilization, you will take control of the burgeoning political power and turn it into the most incredible empire that the western half of the planet has ever seen. Manage the empire and establish income from a high level, and then utilize real time beat 'em up gameplay to address the various political events the regularly occur in the empire.

only mobile platforms are planned? by the way the moving animation is a bit too slow compared to the real running speed.
There are no mobile plans at all, actually. As of now the plan is to go right to Windows and OSX.
I think the combat looks really good. My only critique would be that the enemies seem a little 'floaty' at times when they move backwards.
Is there a mechanic to go along with the blood collection? Just curious but it looks really good so far.
Thanks! And I agree with you; their backwards (and forwards) still needs some vital tuning.
And yes, there certainly will be! I don't want to say too much more now because we're still figuring it out, but that system is going to be a huge part of the combat metagame.
Great combat system, can't wait for a chance to try this out!
Aw hell yes! More of this awesome beat'em up! I love the art design, it's pumped full of style. This is looking great, props! Also love how confident you are in your game, it's refreshing.
This looks really promising. It's got character and dedication which I really respect! Props bro, it's freaking sick! Hope to hear more updates in the future.
