The scope of this game is huge! I have seen colonies with over 100,000 individually placed building. This colony is on a planet with potentially hundreds of colonies. All of them player made.

After playing for 4 months, I feel like I am just getting started.

Graphics and game mechanics are constantly being improved.

This is game has several never-been-done-before features, like the interface to control your fleet of NPC ships is done via chat windows, with chat-bots.

The future of the game looks bright. Especially considering there is only 1 programmer, and he's about to hire more.

This is the space game I have been waiting for!

This game has so much potential to become even better than it already is.

In the month or so I have been playing, the developer has added much content and releases updates/fixes on almost a daily basis. I love that the game keeps moving forward.

Every aspect of this game is player driven. Everything is based on real science, even the things that don't yet exist in reality are based on current theory.

It starts out fast-paced and easy to draw you in, then becomes increasingly more complex as you advance. At every stage of the game, your jaw will drop. You will be amazed by the many concepts this game has to offer. By the time you reach the current end-game content, you will have realized the true potential of this game and you will then have a hard time waiting patiently for the next big update.

Love this game. I'm on when ever I'm not moving around!!! New features constantly, and a close nit player community that's growing by leaps and bounds. A great alternative to other larger MMO space games.

Ascent:TSG is the primary example of a struggling developer building his dream game. The amount of functionality in this game is impressive considering there is only one developer. The KickStarter was an example of the dev realizing that his expertise in game beauty was lacking, and thus he worked with the dedicated community to bring in another dev.

This game is for people who love space exploration, trade, and construction. The learning curve can be slightly challenging to new players, but once they learn the basics, read the wiki a bit, and chat with the community, then they are well on their way to see beyond the 90's graphics and bugs.

The reason I still play is that the game has so much potential. The dev has outlined his dreams for the game, and in the last 8 months, I have seen him implement his ideas, some ideas which have explored new types of game play slightly outside traditional space games. Colonization and gate construction are two primary examples.

For new players, here's a warning: Consider this game in constant beta and all the players are beta-testers. The dev experiments with the assistance of the community, and in turn the community provides feedback and guides the dev to implement better and funner solutions. Perhaps this is why there is a strong community. Every voice matters.

Tedious grind. Poor graphics ( yes they want to fix that....doesn't mean I ignore it for a review), somewhat closed community (cliques) which is exasperated by being a small community. misleading game description. Explore 200 billion stars...except you can't. You can not even venture out on your own until you've grinded towards your end game to afford the hyper drive to go any distance. then, your at the mercy of your hyperdrive maintenance and fuel reserves which runs out long before you would ever reach that, plus the majority of the stars are already names and visited by a few select veteran players, regardless of whether they did anything but fly into the system first.

Could use a *LOT* of work, and unfortunately can not compete with the large titles out there offering the immersion this game hoped to promise.

Great game. Highly recommended if you like a relaxed PvE space game. It is a MMO but not on a competitive way. Player driven market and people helping eachother with their colonies.

Great Game with Exploration and Planet colonization and without PvP .

Really new game with a lot of potential.. in my books, the amount of possibilities reminds me of the early stages of banished, townsgame (RIP), and even alpha minecraft (blasphemy, I know!)

There is still a lot of stuff that needs to be added (tweaks in the economy, allow more organic exploration and discovering far away worlds, more commands in the computer console so we can replicate the spirit of notch's 0x10c, etc.) and also bugs that need to be ironed (mac users seem to be having a lot of trouble, not sure if unity's fault, or the game's, but in windows so far glitches have only been minor, like typos and such).

All in all, some parts of the game look amazing (asteroid mining! building ships!..) but some parts are tedious (in the early game there is a lot of "click on sol star, buy all, click on other star, sell all", nothing that you can't automate with e.g. AHK, but still this could be too much of a chore for some players)

Sweet, very open ended. New features being added weekly which is refreshing.
