The story revolves around an unfortunate accident, the protagonist finds himself lost inside an unexplored cave that seems to be bound to his emotions, exposing neglected facts about his ominous past. At this 2D adventure platformer, a young adult engages in a journey to find and accept himself, he’ll jump between platforms, do multiple dashes, and manipulate the room content by changing its predominant color, going through the darkness of this cave until reaching the light and whatever awaits him in the afterlife.

In this devlog, we show some of the updated movement for "Anything but Dark", using a custom physics system.

Until now, throughout the development of "Anything but Dark", we've used Unity's standard physics system to build the game's movement and environment interaction upon.

Please note that any animations displayed in these video previews are still being worked on.

Recently however, we moved onto building and using a custom physics system, that would allows us to better tweak the movement to match what we envisioned for the project. This made it easier to make the movement feel less floaty, but not overly realistic, leading to a better feel of control over the character.
