The past couple months have sent the team through a few loops, putting out a couple fires, and brought the games development to the steadiest form yet. What do we mean by this? Let's go through what we have done so we can brief you on what’s to come:
With this step done we were able to set up the character customization options that include scars, tattoos, piercings, eye style, eye color, hair style, skin color, and more. The best part is we have only gotten started with these and plan to have plenty of options for players to truly have a unique look.
This also gives us the footing to start setting up various NPC’s to live and travel with world of Antreya as well. Even when we go into Early Access, we want to provide an experience fitting to the games end goal.
Main player housing unit completed in Axeholis city
With this main piece of architect finished, players will be able to claim their own apartments and/or houses to set up in game. Now the focus is on finishing the shops, bar, markets, and general town designs that will bring the Antreyan world to life!
The other city planned to be in the Early Access, Pora's Pass, is also make great progress and nearing it's completed design, but it does have a bit more progress to make than Axeholis.
While there are still a few quirks to work out, the quest system for Antreya Chronicles is pretty much implemented and so we can begin inputting the tutorial on Facilio Isle. This tutorial is planned to be the games official tutorial, from its part in the Early Access to the games completion. We will be focused on this part as it needs to be clear and entertaining, not to mention it's the first thing players will do!
While the character artists and world builders have been working on their parts, one of our modelers have begun working on the creatures that will roam the land. Their latest being a gorilla, still un-textured, as shown below:
A written library of details and explanation on the aspects within Antreya Chronicles Online is in progress
The writers have begun working on various notes, memos, tombs, and other items that can be found in-game that explain the different aspects of the lore. This library of information will also be available on the games website for those interested.
- Various bugs and problems fixed
- Porting the game into the official engine (UE ver4.19) setup is nigh complete
- Assets for the official trailer are being put together
So, as you can see, a lot of the games core mechanics are either finished or being finished up. Meanwhile the assets that put Antreya Chronicles together are in progress with completion within sight. With the pace we have been making progress in, Early Access being launched within Q4 2018 is looking to be a safe bet!
Keep in mind, shortly after we launch the Early Access on Steam, we will be launching an official Kickstarter to help us jump the games progress forward as well as get it on console as well.
