Alphabeats isn't really a rhythm game. It's an evolving word puzzle that moves to the music, at speeds from "tranced out" to "twitch action nightmare." It's easy to start:
- Choose a song. Letters will fall to the beat.
- Catch letters to make words, and deposit them to procure points.
- Concoct bounteous magniloquent lexemes. The longer your words, the more points you get. Accrue as many as you can by the end of the song.
Along the way, you can:
- Instantly look up the definition of any word you catch, to expand your vocabulary on the fly as you play!
- Deploy powerups strategically to destroy unwanted letters, make your word more aerodynamic, or multiply your points!
- Ascend the three difficulty modes: Casual, Tricky, and Spellfire! Each one gives you a different version of every track, and Spellfire adds hit points to make the game into a lexical bullet hell.
- Get bonuses for learning new words by spelling the Word of the Day!

Alphabeats: PC Master Edition is featured in the Adventure Beats bundle from Groupees! It's the only way to play Alphabeats on PC right now. Included with the $1 purchase are three other games and albums, with four extra if you pay at least $2.
The Adventure Beats version of Alphabeats features a fully playable version with twenty songs. It supports Mouse, Keyboard, and Joystick controls.
