Yes, this is not an alternative to a real walk, but when there is no other option - our app is the best solution to escape from everyday stress and get out into the nature.

About the Game

There are no monsters, no riddles, no need to defeat anyone or chase after anyone here - it is not that type of game. It is a virtual escape where you can hide from the monotonous daily routine and enjoy the nature.

This project uses the most advanced technologies that allows to create a picture that is as close as possible to reality. We can guarantee that this level of visual quality is one of the best among all that you could encounter in other VR projects.

From the Authors

This project was originally developed as a VR arcade. However, because of a twist of fate we decided to port the project for public use and release it on Steam. In the process of preparing for release, a lot of ideas has risen about how to make a full-fledged game with survival, adventure, and of course, beautiful landscapes. We called our idea a "big" game. However, the implementation of this game required resources that we simply don’t have...

You can consider this walk through the forest as kind of demo, thanks to which, for the price of a cup of coffee, you can escape from isolation for 15-30 minutes and walk through a realistic forest and surrounding areas.

If you like this virtual experience, then after the Steam Summer Sale, we will begin to search for an investor for our "big" project. Therefore, every purchase, review or comment about this product is a contribution to our idea of a future "big" game.

“A Walk in the Woods” is now free

Winter has come to the Northern Hemisphere. Days have turned gray and short and an already difficult time is further clouded by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We, at Brightdawn Entertainment, decided to somehow help people get through this difficult time, Starting December 1, the VR game “A Walk in the Woods” becomes free for everyone!

"A Walk in the Woods" was released on April 21, 2020. The product was originally suppose to be a VR arcade game, but the pandemic made some changes to our plans and we had to remake our realistic VR experience into a relaxation game, which became available to a wide audience for the price of a cup of coffee.

The game was fairly successful and collected 70% of positive reviews on Steam. We consider this to be a breakthrough considering the fact that the game lacks gameplay. Yes exactly! This game is about relaxation and exploration. In this game the player is invited to walk through the lost terrain and find all the Points of Interests, enjoy nature and just take a break from everyday worries in a high-quality virtual world.

At the time of quarantine, this is exactly what many people need! Many are forced to be isolated in their apartments amidst the gray city landscape. But sometimes you really want to find yourself in silence, enjoy the murmur of a stream, the singing of birds and summer sun. Alas, we cannot provide the feeling of warmth of the sun, but we can make you believe in the beauty of virtual nature. Attention to detail and sophistication of the plant world is a key feature of “A Walk in the Woods”.

We express our gratitude to all those who purchased the game and wrote a review on Steam. It really means a lot to us. We will take all the experience gained during the development of this product into account when developing our next projects.
