The game is an action-puzzler. The puzzle comes from rearrange circuits to spread the virus. The action comes from dodging anti-virus drones while doing it. It’s one of the few puzzle games out there where you can play co-operatively (with up to 3 friends). But if you tire of working together, there is a battle mode where you can take on your friends to see who is the supreme virus. STORY Dr X brought the world the city of Tomorrow: with robot dogs, and houses that clean themselves. MegaTech promptly fired him as soon as the last chrome brick was laid. But Dr X has one final invention, a little virus named Tom. Help this little gremlin bring the city of Tomorrow back to the Stone Age by causing absolute mayhem throughout the city.

A Virus Named TOM Launched!

News

Hey guys, we've luanched on Steam, Desura, and our website! Here's the trailer and description:

A perfect place. A city without traffic. A dog that doesn't poop. All products of the brilliant mind of Dr. X, but hell hath no fury like a mad scientist fired by a giant corporation. In this unique action-puzzler you take control of TOM, a virus created for one purpose: revenge.

Hack your way through brain scrambling puzzles while maneuvering through a thumb cramping maze of enemies. Team up through over 50 cooperative levels in what MMGN is calling "The most addictive co-op game we've played since Portal 2." And if the over 100 levels aren't enough, you and your friends can destroy each other again and again in battle mode to determine just who is the supreme virus.

Key Features:

  • Single Player mode with over 50 levels across 6 distinct areas
  • Cooperative mode (for up to 4 players) with over 50 additional levels in which "friendships will be destroyed"
  • Battle for supreme virus-itude by battling your friends in Battle Mode
  • Evolving mechanics which ratchet up the difficulty from lollipop to soul crushing
  • An animated tale full of dark humor, malfunctioning robots, and little girl screams

Looking very cool. However, I really hope that despite its XNA origins, I look forward to Linux support in the future. Will Desura purchases have access to this as well as the Steam key etc... compared to HumbleStore?

I *believe* with Desura you get all the platform versions of the game when you buy it, but not a Steam key. I think you can get a Steam Key, but then you don't get the Desura version (it's an either OR). That probably prevents people form getting 2 versions of the game to then turn around and sell?

Humble Store supports Steam Key and standalone versions, not sure about Desura Keys.

All that and I can't *guarantee* the Linux/Mac version till we sell the PC version (we're out of savings). But I'm pretty sure we can swing it :)

Apparently it's possible to port XNA games to other platforms other than Windows with MonoXNA, so perhaps a Linux version is in the works.

Yep. We looked into using MonoGame and found that might be a viable option. We're going to wait till we launch the Windows version so we have a more stable codebase before we port (and hopefully some money to do said port).

Assuming all goes well we'd put the Linux & Mac versions up on Desura once they were ready. Maybe even use Alpha Funding again to help us get them ready for primetime.
