3089 is a futuristic, procedurally generated, open-world action role-playing game. All terrain, enemies, weapons, items, quests & more are uniquely generated. You are a promising robotic android design, made by the Overlord, placed on planet Xax. Your performance in common combat, support & intel scenarios is being closely watched. However, will you become too much for them to handle? What else on planet Xax exists that the Overlord doesn’t know about?

I'm confused as to the mechanics of Burden. My "max" burden is currently shown as 20 yet my Agility is 8. According to this forum post I calculate my max burden to be 14 or does that formula just refer to an adder applied on top of some base number? I have exceeded my burden multiple times though by a fair percentage but still seem to be able to sprint indefinitely and haven't noticed any effect on my melee combat performance. Is there a good source of info to get some more data on the mechanics?

Thanks
Cecell

You're new I see. 3089 is simple enough that you've probably figured this out by now, but I'll explain anyway.

Increasing Agility by earning skillpoings, pressing P, and clicking on "Agility" on the left screen increases your burden limit. Agility DOES NOT increase your speed or any stat other than burden.

If your inventory and gear weight is less than your burden you can run really fast and jump really high. If your burden exceeds your burden limit by a little, say 21/20, your burden will turn orange and you will be slightly slower and jump less high. If your burden is around double your max (40/20) it will turn red and you will be noticeably slower and jump a very short distance.

3089 is fast paced so any drop in speed is a really big deal!

On top of that movement gear to include hoverboards, grappling hooks, and teleporters have a "burden limit". Regardless of your agility, if your inventory and gear weight goes above the "burden limit" of a movement item, that item will completely cease to function. A good strategy is to save up cash and buy movement gear at least 10 levels higher than your weapons to avoid the "dump my loot so I can use a grappling hook up this cliff" problem.

I'm guessing piloting vehicles is unaffected by burden and agility, so that is a gameplay style to consider.

Burden is very VERY annoying but higher leveled items get more burden cap but yet they add 50 burden and cost so much energy. Phr00t can you make the burden thing higher for items and lower their burden adding. Also the special weapons cost to much energy when you get high leveled one's. Can you make it more fair. Just sayin it's your game so do what you like :/
