0 A.D. is a free, open-source, cross-platform real-time strategy (RTS) game of ancient warfare. It's a historically-based war/economy game that allows players to relive or rewrite the history of twelve ancient civilizations, from Iberia to Mauryan India, each depicted at their peak of economic growth and military prowess. Developed using Pyrogenesis, a ground-breaking new game engine custom-built to suit this project, 0 A.D. will give players a rich and entertaining real-time gaming experience.
This short clip is video captured in-game from 0 A.D. (with a special black terrain as the background) and it features two hero units in combat. There is quite a bit of teamwork involved in what was needed to make this video happen, and we won't even try to give names.
very nice work, although I think the jump and jab action of the hero with the spear could possibly be improved, as the motion doesn't look that practical to attack from hehe. But then again, this video is from 2006 and hence things may have already been changed. But in any case.. really nice work you've done so far and I'm looking forward to playing it.
The variety of attacks (and war cries!) is amazing. How many attack animations will a standard unit have?
Even in AAA RTS games you don't see such a variety of different attack animations, awesome work!
