Kingdom of Neandria: A free downloadable RPG exclusive for the Nintendo Switch Thread

Hello fellow creators and game fans!

After hundreds of hours of labor, I am proud to announce the launch of 'Kingdom of Neandria' for the Nintendo Switch! The game is completely FREE to play and can be downloaded via the RPG Maker MV Player app. I would be super honored and appreciative if anyone gave it a chance and checked it out. Feedback is also more than welcome. I've left quite a bit of more detailed information about the game below if anyone is interested, including video links.

Steps to Download 'Kingdom of Neandria':

1. Go to the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch and search for RPG Maker MV Player. Download it! (It's free!)

2. Open the RPG Maker MV Player software, then search for 'Kingdom of Neandria' or Game ID: 405.

3. Voila! The game is now on your Nintendo Switch!

Game Synopsis:

The game starts with you, the player, waking up to your daughter (who is very ill) speaking a strange tongue in her sleep. The problem? Your daughter was born a mute. The following day, after conferring with a doctor from a nearby town and your father-in-law, you determine that magic may lie at the root of your daughter's condition. You decide that the next best course of action is to seek out the local witch doctor who lives in the woods nearby. The game includes a village, a forest, a mountain, a beach, surrounding plains around the village, and the game'sfirst dungeon, as well as dozens of NPCs, lots of story, and a few sidequests.

A Message From The Creator:

Inspired by classics such as Final Fantasy V, Breath of Fire III, and the recent CrossCode, my primary focus in the development of 'Kingdom of Neandria' was to create lively environments with a memorable atmosphere, engaging characters, and a plot that contained elements of mystery, comedy, and tragedy. While combat recalls traditional turn-based JRPGs, there are no random encounters and no world map in 'Kingdom of Neandria'. All enemies are seen on-screen and locations consist of interconnected maps as experienced in games like A Link to the Past and Secret of Mana, to cite only a couple of my other inspirations.

The game is between 4-6 hours depending on your pace. It was designed as a 'demo' in the sense that everything unfolds as if it represents the first section (including the first dungeon) of a 35-40 hour game. That is, my main intent for the project was just to create this first 'demo' section, so whether or not I spend another 2000-3000 hours making it into a full length RPG is uncertain, and at this point unlikely. I made the game with the idea that the project as it is in its current completed state would stand on its own, despite many plot threads being left hanging when the demo concludes.

One of the challenges about using the Switch version of MV is that I was restricted to using default tile sets and unable to utilize plugins. But this is also in part what motivated me: I really sought to dispel the notion that a solid RPG cannot be made using only the baseline tools that MV offers. I think I have succeeded, insofar as I am satisfied with the result, but that will ultimately be up to you, the players, to judge.
