The biggest indie gaming stories for the week of June 8 2018.

Posted by on

For this recurring segment, we will be highlighting the five biggest stories on IndieDB for the prior week. Whether it's demo releases for upcoming indie games, Kickstarter campaign announcements, or important stories that affect the indie gaming as a whole, you'll find them rounded up here each week.

The Week of June 8 2018

NetherWorld is a horizontal side-scrolling adventure/action game, where character development, dialogues and narrative have a special role. Immerse yourself in a sinister world, explore the world, make friends (or enemies) fight against grotesque bosses or drink a coffee in the town's bar.

Race perpetually on exquisitely detailed stages, full of light-speed danger, chaos and mayhem. Guide your Grav in three gameplay modes across four different worlds with three tracks each. These dynamic courses come to life, while pushing the power of Unity to the limit.

WEDNESDAY

PREVIEW: Epic Loon

From: Ukuza

Dive into the bizarre world of Epic Loon, a quirky physics platformer for up to 4 players playable in couch co-op or battle mode. The game revolves around a group of aliens hellbent on destroying the film collection of the human that awoke them from their slumber inside a VHS cleaning tape.

Flashing Lights is an emergency services simulator with both single player and online multiplayer. Choose to enrol with the police, emergency medical services or fire department and climb the ranks of each role to unlock new missions and rewards. Each department will have its own variety of vehicles, equipment and abilities.

FRIDAY

PREVIEW: Pine

From: Twirlbound

Pine is an action adventure simulation game. Set on the island of Albamare, where Humans never reached the top of the food chain, an intricate ecology reacts, evolves and adapts to you specifically. It's up to Hue to find a new home for a near-extinct leftover tribe. Inspired by the adventures of Link in the Zelda-series, the intriguing nemesis system of Shadow of Mordor, Fable's choice-dependent progression and the dance-like combat of Bloodborne, Pine brings you an ever-evolving world that provides each player with a truly unique journey.
