Deaf is this character who can't hear but is more focused on seeing. He is energetic and childish. He wanted to live in the village like other Weavelings, but he always got in trouble. When he met Blind he thought that they have some kind of connection because they are both different. He started to paint in hermitage and made it also his home. Blind gave him a bell to know where he is. Deaf is small, has a backpack where he put his journal, seeing light ball, but no hearing branches. He loves painting, that's why his arms and forehead are covered in turquoise paint. He is afraid of dark places.
The field of view of the Deaf character is the surroundings around him. However, all the sounds of the environment are inaccessible to him. Although he sees the surroundings around, he may have problems with recognizing some interactive objects, especially those that are sound sources. He can see the energy and light from the Resin.
Flash is a Deaf’s special ability. He can eject a beam of Resin energy from his light ball. It reacts with organic objects that are using Resin energy such as plants, mushrooms and objects from ancient technology.
Only Deaf is agile enough to climb. Marked ledges are interactive objects for Deaf. He can use action on climbing point under the accessible ledge to start hanging on it. He can also move while hanging. If there is a platform above the ledge he can climb on it by using action and move up/forward. If there is a gap between two ledges on the same height he can jump from one ledge to another by using action and move right or left.
Journal is a collection of paintings and drawings which Deaf makes during their journey. In the world there are some places where Deaf can sit and paint. They are kind of collectibles. The player can see collected paintings any time they want from menu. Some paintings are more connected to the story, and they are added automatically after some events.
