Post news Report RSS Crimson Crow's Art Assets Released

A total of 600+ models and several background sounds, free for projects to use!

Posted by on

I hate to see a lot of good work go to waste, so I'm releasing (with the permission of Crimson Crow's new owner) all the old art assets originally made for Crimson Crow.

This is an accumulation of 3+ years of work, engine switching, and effort. We're certain the community can put that effort into good use.

All that we ask is that you credit the original author if you use their material.

Crimson Crow Model Pack (400+ Models)

Crimson Crow BSP Model Pack (200+ Models)

Crimson Crow background sound pack

Also note that many of these models were intended for early versions of Torque, while others may not be finished.

Thank you, and enjoy!

Yeah these would work great as more complex placeholders. Nice one!

Some are very fine quality while others were made in our TGE days, but all would do well as placeholders.

I'd ask the original creator specifically if you plan to sell their work. I have no problem if you modify or sell anything I've made.

Ah nice, it's always a shame to see collections of assets go to waste indeed. Thanks for releasing this :)

Well I wouldn't say wasted, since I uploaded an alpha version of the old Torque build too: Indiedb.com

This is really generous of you Dave!

it be nice if more people would do things like this, perhaps create a repository of models in various categories (maybe even have it as a catagory on desura?) atleast for modders to use as placeholders or final content since mods arent profitable. Just give credit to creators.

Just kinda saves alot of trouble of putting together a whole team, and creating yet another model you know, like weapons for example, create one AK47 and then reuse that instead of having to go and create yet another?

Anyhow, thanks =]

Actually I'm two steps ahead of you: Moddb.com

Thanks Pseudo_Dave! These should be great for modding. Do you need the Torque engine to export the models?

Most models were made with 3Ds Max. Technically you can export them to any engine you need to.

The BSP models are Torque specific, though I read somewhere about exporting it to .map or .lwo files.

thank you for replying.
I downloaded the .rar and found that some of the models are FBX, which is fine because I can import those into Blender and make modifications.... or just import the FBX right into UDK
