𝕱orgive me if the blog post reads like it was rush.

It's been a while since I've had a chance to work on the game and I'm eager to get back to its development. But it has been weeks and I feel that a status update is in order, hence this month's devlog. Pretty much I got caught up in many other things that took away my time from the game and only now am I returning to development. I feel like an eternity has passed and now I've finally managed to put myself in a position where I can return to the game.

To summarize what would be a really long story, for the past two months, I could not work on the game. I was stuck, in a stalemate, and it mainly involved the budget. I'm more or less still stuck but now I feel like I figured out how to get out of this predicament. So for the time being, I'm back with the hope of updating the demo in the coming weeks. I'm still only working on this game on the weekends so it's going to be a while but at least some progress is better than none.

One of the things that was keeping me from working on this game were my artist who lost their DA account months ago. It took them a while to get back on their feet so they had to halt the progress of the first-person sprites. It's only recently that I've received Enro's assets and the assets for the other characters will soon follow.

I really want to get the new demo out with the first person perspective. I truly feel this is the change I need for Child Arms, but there is still so much to do before that. I need to update all the screenshots and GIFs to reflect this change as well as make a new trailer for the game. I have a feeling once I do that, then perhaps the confusion about how to play this game will be minimized.

Aside from the first-person perspective, I'm also working on updating many aspects of the game. Most of them have been mentioned on the previous post (control restructure, making stats clearer, and simplifying the color editor) and I'm also adding some minor additions like sound effects on the menu and adding the special moves on the character select screen for Arcade mode. Just small things that players would appreciate.

That's all I really have to report. I really didn't do much since last time but at least now I can continue the game. I've been wanting to get back into this game for so long and I'm happy that I can now proceed, especially with my new business venture, which you can read all about it on my alternative blog.

Expect much better news in the future when more progress has been made.
