Top secret toad tech - the way of the future.
on a more serious note, as with every cryengine this is quite stunning. makes me wonder just how amamzing stuff will look 50 years from now(heck at the rate things are advancing i'm even curious about the next 10 years)
Both the Unreal4 and Ce3 amaze me!
(i hope)in 10 years we have only photorealism games
I hope we get there and get it out of our system so devs can go back to making beautiful games again.
it been said a couple of years ago, that in 10 - 14 years realism will be plausible, alredy looks like we on the road to create stunning realism :D
All hail to the mighty Top Secret Tessalated Toad Tech!
For a company making such serious and powerful technology, they sure don't lack a good sense of humor.
Theme of toad disclosed completely
CryEngine 3 is simply amazing. I have been browsing crydev's CryEngine 3 Art Thread and it's just beautiful. Stunning pictures, some are even very close to photorealism. I love this engine.
crytek battletoads reboot confirmed
It would look even better with less dark shadows. Might be a simple contrast issue. Very little in the real world looks pure black.
The real-time volumetric fog shadows (sunshafts) and "unlimited" particle FX lighting is rather impressive. I still wonder about distance though. Can the engine handle truly large areas? And what about radiosity lighting?
I think the shadows are more of a crytek stylistic thing. Also, it's a Cryengine. I'm pretty sure the draw distance can be pretty long. They probably won't utilize it though, the game is still current gen for consoles. The PC has the PC bells and whistles but the levels are still gonna be pretty compact.
