So many features! Three levels! Working save system! Dialogue! Shop!
Is it good? Meh.
Here's what I should have had out by the end of April. Working dialogue, gun shop, three levels, an almost non-existent day and night cycle, and an "ending".
Overall it's still a VERY condensed version of my original plan that's just kinda meh due to lack of testers and feedback. At this point I'm working on this game just to practice all the stages of game development. It's definitely buggy, unbalanced, and lacking in content but it exists now and I can just work on tidying up sprites, animations, story, and a few fun easter eggs. I don't think I'll adjust the gameplay or levels at all (apart from fixing bugs). If I decide to come back to this project to make it better, I'll just take the base and overhaul the combat systems.
Gameplay notes:
- After you talk to the mayor, you can check in at the hotel. Talk to the front desk and then you can go to room 3.
- Once you finish a level, make sure to go back to your hotel room to sleep to progress to the next day.
- Talking to the mouse in the town square starts the next level. Make sure to get your pistol from the gun shop (the big bullet shaped store)
Controls:
- WASD: Move
- E: Interact when prompted
- Shift: Dodge roll
- Left click: Shoot
- Scroll Wheel: Change weapon
- Esc: Pause menu
Oh boy. The main menu doesn't work. Updating as soon as I can.
The problem has been fixed and an issue with the sleeping cutscene bumper I didn't catch
