The Open World is a really small protest game I made for a "personal game jam" this weekend, and basically tries to answer the question "What would happen if everyone in town owned a home-made gun? Would you feel safe, or would you fear you won't survive the day?"
The "(*)" stands for a crossed out "wiki gun."

I made this game as a reaction to the news about the "wiki
gun" posted last week, and also as a reaction to the author's comments stating
everyone has the right to own a gun. In The (*) Open World everyone you see is
openly wielding a gun, so this questions you how safe you feel in an environment
where everyone is carrying a gun ready to be fired. The (*) Open World is an
unfair game because surviving is based on simple chance, not skill, and thus
surviving is based on pure luck. Because of this, I can't say this is a "fun"
game, because it's not supposed to.
Since I made this game over the
course of a few hours during the weekend, you will surely find tons of bugs and
things that don't quite work. Also, as you see the mostly-hand-painted graphics
suck :D I won't be developing this game any further because it was never meant
to be developed as a full interactive experience, but rather as a way for me to
say something (besides I already have another game under development).
