SMUrT Reader is a log reader & search tool for the freeware multiplayer FPS game “Urban Terror” by FrozenSand.
SMUrT Reader stores the Playername, IP & GUID of everybody that connected to your server (right window).
SMUrT Reader also stores all chats (left window).
Tip: Use SMUrT Reader to quickly see who/how many names are behind an IP/GUID.
Tip: Use SMUrT Reader to see who the biggest pottymouth on your server is.
Tip: Use SMUrT Reader to check if anybody is advertising (search for “www”/”com”/”my shitty clan-name” etc), member-hijacking, or causing any other kind of unwanted activity in the chat.
Tip: Use SMUrT Reader to provide evidence.
Tip: Use SMUrT Reader to gain bigger insight to what’s going on on your server, when you’re not around.
Click ”Open..” and locate your Urban Terror 4.3.x log file.

Loading time depends on the size of the log file. ~120mb takes about 5 secs on an i9.
You should see something like this, if your .log file loaded successfully

Left search-field is for the chat results, right search-field is for Name/IP/GUID.
For my example I’m going to search for “mother” in the chat search-field. Let’s see how many mother-talkers we have…

Yeah, he’s kinda nasty…so lets check his IP and GUID for other nicknames.
We can get his IP and GUID if we search his nickname in the right window.
Tip: You can right-click and copy/paste items individually

Searching on his IP reveals two more names

Searching on one of his alt. names in the left window (chat) reveals that he is indeed a major pottymouth that hides under several names.
When I search for his alt. name in the right window, I can see he’s been using the same nickname from two different IPs and GUIDs. I will have to ban both IPs, if I decide to IP-ban him. Hooray for SMUrT Reader!
