PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION INFO BELOW! This is 0.65 patch, called "Mercenaries" Patch. It repaires some problems stated by the players on the mod comments section. Serously, read the description, as there is a of useful info.
1. install PARADIGM WORLDS MOD 062 'The Giants' Update
2. install 0.65 patch - overwrite all when asked
- Pirate Hunters / manhunter dialog repaired, now you can attack them and be attacked by them
- upgrading troops more relevant to upgrade level, prices are bit higher
- some items repairing (names, flags, etc.)
- lords gain more xp every few days depending on doomsday clock (not only when they raise a new party)
- most or all RAGDOLLS repaired (there can be problems with Giants -> "Bosses" from war-parties)
- I don't want to take your fun. To achieve old crazy ragdoll effect you have to find CRAZY RAGDOLL effect in mod DATA folder. There is skeletons.xml file. Overwrite it in mod DATA folder.
- dialog to sell prisoners repaired (except Ramun), what is more:
This patch is called "Mercenaries" as it brings new feature (small, but fun):
Ransom Brokers (You can identify them by their names, they use "r" letter, for example Rolling Roger, or something like that).
- new feature added - you can hire random units from ransom brokers
- special offer: speak to ransom broker to get 'special offer'. There will be random stock every few 5 days. You will see message informing about it. There will be few units, which normally can not be hired, like prison guards.
- a very special offer - another chance to hire technomages, but mostly a chance to hire high-level mercenaries. Good, interesting option however not a cheap one.
- I have made also possible dialog line when you are a king of your faction. You can bribe lords to join you. Please, if you wanna test this option, make backup save. I tested it however and it worked ok.
- You could bribe bosses if you capture them, but I don't know what would happen then. Absolutely make backup save if you try to do it, and please send me report in comments.
problems solved:
lords stay in castles because of low money for recruitment
- lord wages raised up, so they can easier hire troops and get out of castles.
- lord wages are more dependant on DoomsdayClock. For now their wages raises DoomsdayClockx3 (wasx1) that should guarantee they won't end up in castles later in the game
- lords trade skills are made little higher, mostly on higher levels.
problems solved:
When you take track down bandits quest from guild master and you have positive relations with the band you need to kill, you can't start the battle with them and there's only 1 option "leave" only way to do that is to make them attack someone else and then help the defenders
Now, when you speak with guild master, when you get the quest, there is a special dialog line added:
- ("good_relations", "I know, that you are in good terms with them, but maybe you will find a way to neutralise them?"),
- ("bad_relations", "As I heard, you are on a warpath with those creatures, so there shouldn't be a conflict of interests.)"),
If you are in good or bad terms with quest target you will be informed about it by Guild Master. You can then decide to take or refuse quest.
- however some changes need time (money which lords will gain for recruiting troops is bigger, just give them some time),
- if you want good units to hire from ransom brokers you should wait till this message will appear: "'Dear Friend and honorrific customer, it is my pleasure to announce we've got some new recruits available for hire.' ". No more than 5-6 days.
* but this is minor thing (lord's trading skill go higher) trade skill has some impact on earning money by lords, but not so great to take a new game, really
* very slight changes to companion inventory (new armor)
* with new save a new minor bandit faction will emerge: DESERT ABOMINTIONS. There are a few new units: desert brigand, skeleton djinii etc. (5-6 units) they replace SG-2 Science Squad currently acting on desert terrain
THERE ARE 2 SMALL BUGS INVOLVED PLAYING OLD SAVE:
- You will see new, strange faction {!}Slavers (next time save, it will be a Desert Abominations)
- Somehow in my old save Doomsday Clock has been reset to 0, after aplying patch to old sg. If you want to keep current doomsday clock check it before applying new patch and after a patch click to change icon - every click costs 1 doomsday clock, so you can easly forward clock to your "real" date
I tested new patch on an old savegame and it worked (tried over 21 in-game-days, twice) however you should make a backup save.
I get an error in the middle of the loading screen after i open the game: "Unable to open file: Modules/NativePARADIGM/Resource/raider_reckon.brf"
I have the same issue
Is there a solution? My game won't start
Hi, sorry guys, please DL file again, there was brf file missing. It should be all ok now.
After installing this patch, my entire party seems unable to deal any kind of damage against orc raiders. Didn't try against many other enemies but orc raiders in particular seem to present this problem
*Orcs and Uruks in general seem to be invincible as they appear to take no damage from both my character and others NPC
PLEASE do as follows, that's not too hard:
In the DATA FOLDER (of mod) you will find CRAZY RAGDOLL, there is sekeletons.xml file. Please copy it to the DATA FOLDER, OVERWRITE original. That will do.
Look up! In the comments!
Hi Guys!
I am very, very sorry for the troubles! Morover for my mistakes that broke a game for some time.
PLEASE do as follows, that's not too hard:
In the DATA FOLDER (of mod) you will find CRAZY RAGDOLL, there is sekeletons.xml file. Please copy it to the DATA FOLDER, OVERWRITE original. That will do.
So I keep the older one from 2014 or the newer one from 2017?
this is a very very cool mod...i though due to soo much difference in all the factions it will make the game very confusing, but it seems its that very difference that makes it awesome....awesome job man...i hope to see more releases
