The Unit Editor enables you to create new units (from existing assets) and modify existing ones. Unzip the contents to the game directory where Starfare.exe is located.

Ooh, this is very nice. I've been super busy lately and haven't been able to touch modding Starfare (Blame UDK and Skyrim!) but this might get me to dabble a bit more.
