Leaden Sky is an upcoming side-scrolling horror shooter game.
It heavily emphasizes atmosphere, story and exploration, taking its inspiration from games such as
Killzone, Resistance, Silent Hill, Half Life, Cry of Fear, Metro and Stalker.
Gameplay:
Leaden Sky isn't a standard side scrolling shooter game, it uses many mechanics standardized and popularized by FPS games such as free aiming, location-based damage, realistic recoil mechanics, smooth weapon reloading which can be cancelled, quick melee attacks, etc.
It plays at a slower pace than might be expected, you'll need to be cautious with your advancement through each level and accurate with your shots, spewing ammo and going full Rambo isn't a good idea.
Story:
This game features a horror Sci-fi setting where you take on the role of Kyle Anderson, an ex Black Ops soldier who is trying to destroy The Tower - a large device built by invading enemy forces who are referred to as "Mercenaries," a nickname coined by the first reports documenting their initial activities - imprisoning the Polish city in which he lived before leaving for military service.
The Tower generates a massive force field with a radius large enough to keep the entire city contained, keeping anybody from entering or leaving as well as jamming radio waves and ensuring that all communications with the outside world are cut off.
Living creatures and pieces of the environment trapped under the force field began to show bizarre anomalies, some static or neutral, some of which are aggressive and some even being symbiotic, however the vast majority of anomalous phenomena are greatly negative with their effects gradually becoming worse with time.
As the scenario worsens, it becomes increasingly clear that the Tower must be destroyed urgently before its influence becomes too dire to salvage.
Features:
Leaden Sky features physics simulation, an advanced lighting system, smooth animations, hand drawn high quality textures, unique art style, high quality sounds and visual effects as well as the superbly atmospheric original soundtrack composed by VIS (link to his Soundcloud and Youtube in title screen).
It also features expansive levels, 3D backgrounds and highly detailed graphic violence, all rendered in full HD resolution (1920 x 1080).
Controls (you can see the same text in the READ ME file):
A,D - move
S - crouch
Q - use special ability (Shellshock)
F/MMB - melee attack
E/hold E - use
R - reload
Shift - dash
hold Shift - sprint
Space - jump
N - equip night vision
CTRL - equip ballistic shield
G - throw grenade
Tab - open weapon wheel
LMB - primary fire
RMB - aim down sights
F1 - open cheat console (type help)
hold Space - fast forward cutscene
To run up/down one way platforms (such as stairs) you need to simply jump on them.
Your ability bar is placed at the bottom left corner of the screen, once a segment fills up (turning a glowing orange) you can use your special ability.
Leaden Sky also features controller support, however it's still not complete, if you want to try it out anyway then simply connect your x360 controller and the game will detect it automatically.
Game is still in quite early stages of development so things are about to change or be improved, however with each update I'm getting close to the vision I imagined, so stay tuned, I improve the game as fast as I can.

wait i got the moving working but did u take out the knifing animations and stuff?
Execution animations will be reserved for stealth kills, right now you have weapon stock melee which looks far less clunky than instant executions like before and does not block your movement.
There is also improved hit detection.

If a big company like rockstar or ubisoft big asked to help u would u add more stuff like a zombie mode and regular online like where u can just roam around with a friend or 2 go in buildings and kill other players and npcs also mods

Will there never be a gore level again to mess around on? I understand if it is a nuisance to put in the feature when the game is in development but what about when the game is finished? For me personally, it was best part.

I think that everybody liked that. After demo it s good have a level editor or gore testing level.
I repeat, just to make it clear, it's NOT a gore sandbox, main focus goes to single player but there will be additional game modes.
Trust me, not everybody liked gore testing level, lots of people were expecting more of main game rather than empty room with AI turned off and were criticizing older versions for not having enough of real demo.
If you want to do "gore testing" just use cheats, it's the same thing, press F1, type help and use commands.

hey i beat the demo and I want to use cheats but when I enter the code and press enter like for all weapons (Impluse101) it doesn't do the cheat. other than that great game.
That's wierd, are you sure you are typing it corrently? I also want to mention that it's sensitive to Caps Lock and big letter etc so the cheat code needs to be perfectly written in order for it to work.
If that does not work then I don't know why it happens sadly.
Out of curiosity why did you reduce the bleed out time in the most recent update? and I also noticed your removed the bleed out mechanic where you could wound someone fatally and they would bleed out eventually. Just wondering as to why you made these most recent changes? Absolutely love the game though!
Characters now die and bleed out much quicker if they were hit in vital areas such as torso or if they bleed out too much, I just wanted the dying time to be more synchronized with the speed of blood pool forming and give you more smoother performance while there are more enemies on screen.
Enemies still bleed out but they need to be low on health in order to trigger bleeding out, the game was just too easy when they were as fragile as before.

The only reason I played this was to mess around with the weapons and gore, it looks nicer and I get you have an artistic vision but it feels like this update took all the funnest stuff out for no good reason. Also not having the slower deaths with the ai suffering took a lot of oomf out of the game and not having the gore testing level killed any sense of freedom to mess around with the cool mechanics you've made i feel like i get force fed 1-2 enemies every 30 seconds that instantly get one tapped by my partner i couldnt keep playing for more than 20 minutes. sorry man dont mean to whinge like this but i really liked the past versions for reasons you dont really agree with
Your issue lies within first sentence of your comment, so I will repeat - it's not a gore sandbox.
I'm not sure what "funnest stuff" are you talking about since the shooting and exploration is way better, you have a story and purpose to progress since part 1 of U5 which didn't appear at all in U4.
I'm also not sure how a flat, blank room with AI turned off, no lighting or detail is suppoused to be giving you "sense of freedom". You can still eliminate enemies in any ways you want in U5 which is way more interessting with better environments, much better weapons and advanced AI.
Seriously if Joanna (helper AI) shoots them faster than you then you have to really suck at the game since she never shoots first.
Refering to your last sentences about ammounts of enemies, you didn't really expect to shoot armies of bandits insantly after launching the game, did you? It's called introductiuon, you have way over 100 enemies in just a second level after it (outskirts_2) which can be also activated with cheat codes that you can use for your "gore testing" exactly the same way as you did before so I don't understand your whining.
Yes i've already read the "its not a gore sandbox" statement i get it. the sense of freedom im talking about was being able to test the gore and weapons how ever i wanted wihtout having to sprint for 20 seconds in the demo just to kill one enemy. Its clear you're not interested in the gore testing level you made and fair enough that gets boring after a while too for the reason you brought up so why not make a more interesting version instead of making me sit through cutscenes and a tag along person who domes people after initiating fighting my guess is that along with the other people asking about the test level that is how we had fun with the game you are making and its sad that you think very little of it. And lastly what i meant by "funnest" was the weapon diversity, being able to stomp and grab enemies, shooting an ai's arm off and not having them die instantly, when they do stay alive after shooting them its no where near the amount of time in earlier updates which sucks, you've done heaps of work on the look and feel and it really is great but i just miss the old fun stuff is all
not to bombard you too much but to your line about me sucking at the game because the helper ai isnt meant to shoot before you if there are two enemies and i choose to shoot one she domes the other not allowing me to play the game i want without your testing level
Helper AI only shoots if you were attacked by enemies which makes sense.
I will tell you this:
- press F1
- type god=1, hit Enter
- type Mora_ai=0, hit Enter
- type allowspawn, hit Enter
- type impulse 101, hit Enter
Here is your "gore testing", spawn enemies with middle click.
if you still don't like it - download U4(R2), it's still there.
Also, no, enemies don't die instantly from arm dismemberment, but I get you didn't get to 50cal sniper rifle that's much further into second level.
my bad just tested it, it insta kills sometimes with the shotgun but not all the time. wouldnt have been wrong if i had a test level aye ;)
