This is a version error. Update your Java and run the game again :)
I am running the latest version of Java for my Mac.
Turns out you need a 64 bit processor for Java 7, which I don't have. Kind of silly for a game that looks like it will run on a commodore 64.
Well that is unfortunate. At least we know what the problem is.
