What is this program?
With this small program, you can change the global game language of FreeSpace 2.
With this program it is possible to change FreeSpace 2 into following languages: French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, and Spanish.
Of course you need proper tables for the said language to be actually used. This Program is designed to support all retail languages aswell all translations that were included into NTP.
The Language Selector offers a German and English User Interface.
What else should you know?
Since Version 1.2 the execution of this Selector has been completely revised. It only replaces the language setting in the fs2_open.ini now. As Backup functions are not needed anymore they are no longer part of this program. However i scrapped the support for FreeSpace 2's ''Portable Mode''. If you use it, you have to change the "Language" entry in the fs2_open.ini in your game folder manually. This archive also offers an icon, that can be used for a shortcut.
How do i use it?
The language changer is no longer bound to the FreeSpace2 directory and can therefore be extracted to any location. The archive itself then creates a "Language Selector" folder. The Language Selector can simply executed with the "Language Selector.cmd". The rest should be self-explanatory.
Who Needs This Program?
Anyone who either doesn't use Knossos or wants to use languages that are not officially supported by it.
