The third prototype version of Freepath! This version adds an entire second level to explore.
Version 3 of the Freepath prototype is now available.
This version adds a entirely new level that is a bit smaller than the first, but has more little nooks and crannies to explore. The new level has 20 statues to collect, just like the first level. Unlike the first level, this one doesn't have barriers to prevent you from falling off the edge of the world, so a new mechanic has been added the will respawn you on the last piece of solid ground you were standing on if you fall too far.
This second level is a test of an area with both interior and exterior spaces and the lighting tweaks that happen when you move between them. I've also used a different material for the water surface in this level (the water in the first level can be a little rough on the GPU...), which might improve performance for some folks (real graphics and sound options aren't available through a menu yet, since this is still the beginning of development).
There are some new portals to interact with too, which will let you reach certain parts of the level that you wouldn't be able to get to otherwise.
Remember that other than a quick respawn there's no penalty for falling, so definitely explore for out of the way ledges ^_^b
