Idea Fabrik was founded in 2009. The founders recognized emerging new opportunities in the online games sector that could be driven by financial acumen as well as technologies. Idea Fabrik became a licensee of the HeroEngine. Impressed by the technology, Idea Fabrik acquired the HeroEngine business in the summer of 2010 along with the HeroEngine team and other assets creating IF Studios.
