Not bad, if a little generic. Solid controls and some fun jumping, although there are a few annoyances. Firstly, even with the 'hold space to jump higher' mechanic, the character still randomly seems to jump a bit higher than normal which you apparently to need to take advantage of but I couldn't work out how I was doing it. Secondly, on the levels where you start at the top, sometimes even with the ability to look down, you can't see where you need to land, this makes dying pretty random. Also, when you fall the character falls faster than the screen follows so you can't move to collect coins when you can't see yourself. Would be nice if there were some enemies or moving obstacles to spice things up a bit too.
Still needs way more work, and get rid of that stupid attack that makes your pokemon run at the opponent its ******* stupid and wreaked this game in my mind, the fighting mechanics and controls are very bad and need to be re made.
A total lack of content compounded with poor AI and slow paced combat really make it hard to accept how good the actual combat system and character model are.
The combat itself is relatively fast paced, but with enemies who do nothing but guard and have enough health it takes a while to kill really make the game feel boring.
It feels to me like it is not complete and with some major overhauling could be an awesome game.
While this game isn't exactly original (Because there are many Maze Games), it definitely has potential.
For the first 2 minutes or so, I felt tense, expectant of some kind of monster to nab me.
However, 3 or 4 minutes later, it was pretty obvious nothing was there.
There seemed to be no exit, and if there was it wasn't found by me, and the tenseness and fear I had turned more into annoyance afterwords, considering I was less focused on anything scary (Because there's NOTHING scary in the game so far) and more focused on getting out.
It got boring after about 10 minutes of playtime, and with no real monster at the moment I can't give it anything higher than a 5. It's decent, slightly tense at first, and fun for a few minutes.
The score I give it goes as follows:
No issue running the game: +1
decently fun for at least a bit: +1
Confusing and slightly tense/eerie: +1
Smooth Controls: +1
Nice Maze Design: +1
The rest of the points out of 10 can't be given until there's at least a monster implemented into the game as well as more pressure to hurry out of the maze.
It's got potential, however it's NOT a great game by any standards.
At least, not yet.
Very hard!!! is like the USA version of Castlevania of NES.
Password instead save is very bad.
Im stuck in the boss of the 3rd level (the necromancer with two lifes)
because the password is getting in this point, instead the previous stages and im without subweapon because the dammit password!!!.
Overall its very much "meh" game. Just push right button to defend or attack and dont make too much mistake. Its have nice art and soundtrack and plot probably too, but strip that goodies from game and you will have only stupid "push right button" reaction time test.
In other words - great potential and absolutely worthless implementation. Nice try to purchase gamers with GOOD art and BAD game.
I got Alaska bundle just for this game and...it wasnt worth it. Not at all.
Next time i should try demo first.
I actually liked new "Modified Amnesia" I was woah, must play this it's gonna be great. Later on I was wrong and my expectations were low. I get bored and managed to play on the dungeons then I was naah.. let's quit and continue later... maybe? It's still really boring to play I mean gameplay is not that great, some changed lamps, entities and couple new glowstick and flashlight to use, but basically that's it? I expected more different from this, like couple maps added with really unique things put together and just really good experience overall but No. This just felt really boring to play. I appreciate a effort by changing those lights and stuff, but I just cant' get any exciting feeling If I finish this I think. I don't wanna be rude but I expected a lot more, it's just same feeling just adding couple things here and there. Well I enjoyed it still, but not that much what I expected.
5/10 - Fairly done
It's cute, and somewhat fun to play, but the fact that there's no explanation of how anything works is pretty annoying. I only found out after looking here that changing the girl's outfit color wasn't just something aesthetic, but also has to do with which bullets can hurt you. How annoying. Now I need to try again and see if I can get past stage 2.
Perhaps I'm just annoyed because this is my first bullet hell game, and it's much harder than I anticipated.
To start with, the review is based on the current status of the game, not of the game at full potential as I have now way of knowing if other paths are going to be better.
I finished the Yael Routes, and seen much of the Bri routes. Honestly I am disappointed by the lack of options in the story. For example doing Yael you are railroaded into a single love interest no matter how hard you try to push her away. On the Bri route, you have more story options, but no transformation options other than the initial forced gender change.
What is frustrating is while you are forced down a railroad path of avoiding further transformation, other characters around you are embracing it. I feel that the game so far does not deliver on it's premise, but following dev updates it seems that it very well may in the future.
The game may well at some time be worth buying, but so far, I regret the purchase. If the story paths are more open, and the tf options are greater for future characters I could very well change my mind.
Dev request if you are reading this: Please seriously consider expanding the story and transformation options for Yael and Bri once the other characters stories are live.
