After spending ~ 100 hours in game I have to say this may be one of my favorite games ever.
Much, much better than with fire and sword.

Nice idea! Using 2 chainsaw are just little bit difficult and graphics could be better. Otherwise great job!

Rather fun twist on the platform puzzle genre, and you can do some pretty neat tricks when you are hurtling through the air, the world spinning around you to land on the underside of the platform you just leapt from. Runs great in linux and works great with a gamepad

Until I played Cry Of Fear, no game has ever startled me like the sudden appearance of a Prehistoric animal. Sorry to spoil that, but I knew about it beforehand and that didn't prepare me.
1916 - Der Unbekannte Krieg rerpresents the very thing that war games these days are not, and almost never been: A true account of war's horror. Military games these days have been so bent on patriotism and glory that even I was once taken in by them. This game reminds you that that's not the case in reality.
GOOD: The survival horror element works perfectly; displaying helplesness in the trenches through black/white portrayal and nothing but screaming war noises in the background. Ripping limbs off your dead comrades may sound fun, but here you are more than desperate as that is the key to surviving in your own trench. Sure the game's 'fantasy' element is noticeable, but it works perfectly in the metaphoric sense to show the futility as well as the hellish feeling that is war.
Unlike most people, I actually liked the ending. Sure it was anti-climatic, but that's the point. War isn't a movie or a novel, it is just a pointless situation which has no flow or solution and that is what's emphasized in the conclusion after all your effort to survive in the trenches. If you interpet it well, it definitely stands as one of the most thought-provoking endings in a video game.
BAD: Very little, aside from the fact that it's short, but then it doesn't overstay its welcome. Translation is by far the biggest complaint; while it's great to play as the German side for once, I would've appreciated at least subtitle translation of the texts you read throughout. Also after all the training soldiers go through, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be this clumsy with a rifle, wouldn't they?
You need to try this game (it's free) to understand its unique style. War is nothing but a grey thing. There is no good and bad; just ordinary men sent to die for nothing justifiable, and this game symbolises this.

This has to be the fastest fps out there. Warsow has wall jumps plus auto bunny hop while holding down space, so you don't damage your carpel tunnel. Great community that will always help a noob out. The styling of the game will keep it attractive for many years.

Got this during one of the Humble Bundle sales. I just got around to playing it last night. I really like the way that the mouse in integrated into the game. I like how you must actually "aim" your shield for protection, rather than just clicking the button and letting the game do the rest. Little details like this make me appreciate the game. The game is visually stunning and the soundtrack will keep you immersed.
Love it
Cant wait for part 2!

Great sci-fi game! Probably the best Sci-Fi FPS I have seen.
If you like FPSs, Sci-Fi, have a good graphics card, and have enough disk space, I highly recommend you play this.

This game was great fun to playthrough. considering that this game was created by david rosen when he was in highschool, i'm not surprised the graphics/art in the game is so terrible. I really like the fighting in this game and look forward to overgrowth finally being added for linux so that i can play it!

I think it's very difficult to rate a game like this. Of course it can't compete with full price titles and for 6 euros the bang/buck ratio is not too good.
On the other hand, it's exactly as shown on the screenshots:
It has incredible style
It has addictive gameplay
It has awesome game mechanics
It has a great replay value
It isnt't a "real" zombie game. It's more a grey blocks - green blocks game
On the whole I think one should admire the work of this indie publisher.

Awesome game and soundtrack, for me clearly the game of the year!
Engine Review by GraYaSDF on Nov 15th, 2011
The modern engine itself isn't bad and the old graphics is good for its time, but due to the EA projects I give 9/10

Every bit as good as it is charming, I can't believe it flew under my radar for so long. This is one of those games where you can tell it's creater loves gaming and was crafting something that they themself wanted to play. While extremely hard to describe, I can tell you that it contains elements from classics such as old school Metroid, Castlevania, and Megaman as well as elements from an eastern-style RPG and that it pulls them all off flawlessly.
