Singleplayer FTW!!!! Multi-player is often a waste of time. Too many immature players and trolls ruining online gameplay nowadays. Best examples - Garrys Mod, Obsidian Conflict, Halo, and AVA.
MULTIPLAYER FTW
The game I'm developing:
The single player is mostly done, just a few tweaks here and there.
The multi player has yet to be started. It is based off items and levels in single player, thus my answer Singleplayer + multiplayer.
Only single. But maybe when it's done I'll insert some kind of deadmatch, or something like that (just for fun), and maybe not. Too many now MMORPGs and other same crap, every second makes them. Game for me the - it is primarily the story. Story is not intended to be tormented by juvenile morons in stupid online battles.
Multiplayer/MMO
There'll probably be "single-player" like places, like training and practice sessions, but mostly it'll be online. Sort of like what TF2 does. Except the game is completely different.
Single player with mayyyyybe a multiplayer expansion later on ;-)
The question was 'player-wise' not dev-wise. Personally, I like games with a deep-deep story, thus singleplayer is my favorite. This also depends on the genre. I prefer most shooters to have some form of multiplayer component, but at cases I wouldn't mind a good multiplayer/co-op component for an RPG/Action Adventure.
Any type of game as long as it's awesome FTW! :D
I like both.
Focusing on singleplayer, story and immersion.
Used to be a multiplayer game but design-wise that wasn't working, so we narrowed it down and focused in on making an awesome single player experience.
