Indie DB - End of Year Newsletter

We don't send newsletters often, so consider this the IndieDB end of year special, wishing you a merry xmas and happy new years! The biggest news from us is the announcement of the 2010 Indie Editors Choice winners, the launch of Desura (our 100% indie friendly digital distribution client) and our involvement in the awesome Humble Indie Bundle 2.

So if you have been living under a rock this past week, you may have missed Desura. Our aim with Desura is to put gamers and developers in control, by offering a social distribution service which encourages reviews, news and images to be posted just like on IndieDB.

The launch of Desura just so happened to coincide with the release of the Humble Indie Bundle 2, so if you have been wanting to give Desura a shot, support indies and donate to charity at the same time, these are the games to get (you name your own price!)

While the biggest winner is yet to be announced (the 2010 Players Choice Indie), we have just finished presenting the 2010 Editors Choice awards. A huge congratulations must be extended to the games listed below:

	Most Innovative Minecraft is a sandbox construction game. It involves players creating and destroying various types of blocks in a three dimensional environment. 	Best Original Art Limbo is a 2D sidescroller, incorporating a physics system that governs environmental objects and the player character. The player guides an unnamed boy through dangerous environments and traps while searching for the boy's sister. View all nominees »
	Best Upcoming Indie Monaco is a heist game, like the movie Ocean’s 11. Play by yourself or with up to 4 people on the same screen or online! View all nominees »
	Best Multiplayer Indie Mount & Blade: Warband expands on the original game by introducing a sixth faction, increasing the political options, allowing players to start their own faction, and incorporating multiplayer modes. View all nominees »
