Continuing on from the success of first in the new series of Community Questions we have picked some more questions from the community.

Can we create our own maps & will there be an auto-downloader? (sHaKeNbakE & Comrade Roe)

Yes. The map editor used to create Traction Wars levels is freely available and called Sandbox 3. How custom maps will be distributed is undecided at the moment but some form of auto-downloader is being considered but won't be in OVERLORD.

Will there be any flight simulation?

No (probably). Airpower played a vital part of the Normandy campaign but won't be featured as a playable unit in OVERLORD. We have no plans for adding aircraft in the future which isn't to say we've ruled it out. There would be a lot of work required to do the job properly which is made more complex by the huge difference in the optimum playable area for aircraft vs. infantry.

Will NCOs have rifles or SMGs?

It will be up to the player. Whilst it is true that the majority of squad leaders carried SMGs some did not. Ultimately we want to give NCOs the option of selecting the weapon which best suits their style of leadership. Other classes won't get a choice.

What are the system requirements?

To quote the FAQs: "There is extensive testing and optimisation yet to be done but tentatively the minimum specs are as follows:
Operating System:
Windows XP SP2, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7, Windows 8
Processor:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.0 GHz or better (a multi-core processor is strongly recommended)
Memory:
1 GB RAM (2 GB recommended)
Video Card:
nVidia 8800GT 512MB RAM, ATI 3850HD 512MB RAM or better (SM 3.0 minimum)"

What nations are in Traction Wars?

The first chapter of Traction Wars will feature the British and German Armies found in Normandy in 1944. Additional nations may be added in future chapters.

How will the spawn system work? (Roughbeak & Miller)

Spawning will be at fixed strategic positions in addition to "special" locations which are tied to specific mission objectives in addition to player-positioned temporary rally points. These temporary rally points provide near-frontline reinforcement but are limited to prevent abuse. They are designed to offer temporary rapid-reinforcement of squads to simulate a larger force but they will not allow players to indefinitely contest an area beyond their own lines.

How many chapters will be after Overlord? (Seager)

We honestly don't know. We have detailed plans for OVERLORD, outline plans for Chapter 2 and lots of ideas beyond that. We are concentrating on the task at hand for now though which is OVERLORD.

How many TW Team are/were working on Forgotten Hope 2? (Kevino)

Almost all games have developers who have worked on other projects. Just a couple of examples on our team are; four developers have worked on Forgotten Hope; [TWDEV] Chad509 (Animator), [TWDEV] RvtL (Level Designer), [TWDEV] Mudra & [TWDEV] Fuchs (Testers). [TWDEV] Strayferret has worked on WW1:Source along with [TWDEV] volcol who has also worked for WWII:Online and Resistance & Liberation.

Are we recruiting?

Yes although not for testers or staff in public relations (sorry folks!). You can find out what roles are open and just about everything you need to know about joining the team at www.tractionwars.com/joinus.php.

I have a question I wanted to see featured!

It's not too late, we're always watching the thread for new questions to feature in articles as well as our community forum.
