Yes, corpse (carcasse) moving has been implemented a few months ago.
That game looks very interresting with refreshing. I hope that it'll get funded.
I am surprised that it doesn't more attention though...
I have been lucky enough to test a beta version of the game. So here is some feedback for future players.
First : the game looks and feel really nice. It is a good way to jump straight in action for short sessions of strategy games.
Also, there is an innovative diplomacy feature. However, I am not sure that present rules have brought that diplomacy to its full potential yet. But maybe is it because I have only played at low difficulty levels...
That game worth a try for those who enjoy quick session strategy games.
That game is rather inspiring, and I thus have many suggestions sprouting :
- Neutral tiles : The game would look nicer on start up (and maybe more reallistic theme-wise), if every lonely tiles on start-up were transformed into neutral one (grey or dark color)
- Asteroids : there could be asteroids (moving in straight line), crossing the board, and turning tiles back to neutral.
- Debris field could give 2 extra fuel when being destroyed (Maybe could there be different kind of debris field, some being a nuisance, others which could exploited)
- Dangerous tiles (around a star) : you need a minimum ship level to get there. Or any ship flying there would be downgraded.
- Moons : they would move along an orbit. The 6 tiles surrounding it would move together with the moon. Thus controlling them would be crucial, but it is easy to get a fuel shortage.
- Supply ships : a moveable starbase (with some ressources in it, but unable to produce ship), to carry fuel in small areas. Of course, that ship would be of smallest strength.
Hello, this looks like a very refreshing evolution of Sean O'Connor's Slay.
That's definitelly the kind of game I want to play. I am tracking it game, and whishes you all the best !
Though, it would have been nice to mention Slay...
Yep, that link seems to be working : Sillysoft.net
And here is an old forum for the game : Rob13055.proboards.com
There were 3 important mecanisms appart from the feed line between the stars :
- Some ships are damaged and not destroyed. They can slowly be repaired
- When conquering a star with damaged ships, a portion of them is moved to neighbouring planets and are repaired (so, you can't conquere the full map just through breaking the main defense)
- But, if you conquere star where your enemy has no neighbour, his damaged ships become yours.
The game can still be purchased. But, I am not sure that the developper is easilly contacted
Hello.
That looks interresting. However, be carefull when writting "With a gameplay mechanic never before seen... in this universe." : the game looks very much like pax-galaxia which has been around since a decade...
He, why not having a few posts around in different languages. A little bt of mixity is not too bad.
A few sentences now and then in Czech, Finnish, Spanish or anything else would probably not hurt...
Interresting game. But it would higly benefit from "knytt" like depth... There is a lot of atmosphere. But from what I have played, it felt a bit shallow.
We'll see how it goes with more time
I appreciated the atmosphere of the game, but of course wished for much more : Earing the sound and seeing all humans watching in the same direction, I expected to find a kind of podium with someone holding a meeting. But no...
I guess that such event/scenic places might be found the full release (a bit like the old "syndicate" game)
Ah !! Thanks for that drawing. I do finally understand what is that weird animal that was fetching stuff for me !
But one question though : how did this happen ?
Hmm. Ok, I see.
The way I imagined it (for a similar game I had started programming years ago), is that it would work well if we were limited in the number of shots per turn, (missiles and counter measures) : synchronising 3 salves of shots that would hit in the same turn could add to each other and make it more difficult to defend against (more difficult to evade with short range counter measures, more penetration power on planetary shield, if any).
But of course, that would depend on the way you have designed the whole game.
Hello, that game looks really interresting ! A question/suggestion : will there be slow but powerfull weapons that will survive a few turns, and thus can be intercepted ?
That could be fun.
That game looks fun !
One suggestion : to have a better view of time in trajectories, dots could change color depending on how far in time they are.
You know that your missile will intercept an ennemy when both trajectories share the same color where they meet each other.
Oh.
Yeah, trolls... I am not used (un)dealing with this yet...
"Nobody cares about the developers time and effort they put into the game."
Well, except that with no time and effort put into a game, there simply aren't any games done.
Look at kistarter and other alpha funding : people pay in advance just to allow programmers to create the thing, and eventually add more features or keep polishing it.
Thank you for the reply. Indeed some clearer feedback in fight might help (though the info being given by debris is a clever trick). Having the succession of events might help.
I noticed than some ships (such as missile) die every time they fight (or at least it looks like they do). Maybe should we have that information somewhere in the ship description.
Another point : it would be really helpuff if we could move more than one ship at a time.
Critical Mass already used such a system, taking into account initial speed and turning rate. I might want to check the demo : Windowsgames.co.uk
Interresting game.
But it took me a while to understand how the sabotage option worked (the explanation did'nt seem very clear to me). And even with the explanations, I can't really understand how fights work : I have never managed to accurately forecast the result. Some more feedback could usefull... (for example in which sequence ships have hit each other. Also, sometimes debris don't show what killed them. We don't know either who damaged a ship if it is still alive).
Being allowed to browse the map (and check the fights result) would also be very usefull in the strategy decision round.
Hello diegofloor !
Well, there would be different strategies depending on your mission and weapons selection. I should definitelly make a video...
Usually, the main target is to stop zombies progression. So there is no point fighting behind the line (where zombies are). Most of the time you would have to aim in the population, close to the zombies' progression line.
Soldiers are badass too to stop or slow the progression.
Happy nuking !
Good news (the alpha publication). Since I have seen that page, I am very curious to see what will this game be like.
"War is not alway the best solution" : this looks promising.
I had planned to include it in this version (V1.3), but I ran out of time. So maybe next version... But it is planned.
This is now included in the version that has just been released
Hello !
I have tried the demo. But it won't start on my netbook. I "have" Open GL 1.4 so it might be the issue...
Not in this version. But it is already included in next one.
Similar thing on my notebook. Actually, in the demo released before the game launch, I was able to fiddle with the resolution to reach the buttons. But with later versions (includung the full game), this did not work anymore.
I have encountered that problem with other game built with gamemaker. But not all of them.
It is what is printed in orange on the screen. It is just a group of weapons, if you wish to limit what you can use instead of being allowed to use the full range of weapons.
But next release will have a start menu, and should be more obvious. (Well, I'll try to make it so at least...)
By the way, would you know any other pixel wargame ?
(link to liquid war, that I forgot yesterday : Ufoot.org )
Thank you for the comments kronos10.
Indeed, some of your suggestions already are being implemented. Well see when next release will be ready...
If you like pixel wargammes make sure to try "liquid war"
