Thanks!
Thanks!
Yeah that depends on a few conditions. Currently we're working with a terrain engine (that you see in the videos) which will change eventually to a better one with more flexibility.
But anyway one of those conditions is because the terrain is grid-based, roads and sidewalks cant be placed diagonally on the grid, so given a road piece is something like 10x2 squares, your cliff/hill would need to line up with this. You could just go and create your own hill or cliff with terraforming, too.
Another condition is we've set a max value for slopes to build roads on. If that value is too high, you can't place a road. We didn't want crazy 45° angles for NPC vehicles and your own that you drive. :) A way around that is - yes to cut around a big mountain by terraforming to create cliffs as long as it's somewhat flat.
But again we'll look at improving on all this when we get the new terrain engine, we'll have a lot more room to play :)
cheers.
Haha. The wrecking ball truck is in the works ;)
Yes definitely. However we're not sure if we're going more than 2-players at this time, depends on performance as we get closer to finishing.
Haha yeah..probably not a good 'legal' idea lol. But we'll definitely have easter eggs! Mmm...eggs benny.
Looks awesome. Reminds me of some of my dreams lol.
Cheers! More videos to come!
Thanks, Sph!nx! We're trying! :D
I can see what you're saying, we were just trying to keep them simple - but with that said you will be able to customize your character's looks: eyes, mouth, hair, helmet colour, skin tone, gender and outfit. You can kinda see that under 'Customize your character" on our KS page 2/3 of the way down Kickstarter.com
Thanks for the compliment, support and feedback!
Cheers.
Thanks a lot, Gnome! Much appreciated! :)
Hi. We'll have a Paypal option on Buildanauts.com after the Kickstarter which just launched today:
We were actually thinking of railways the other day, but if we were to do that it'd be a DLC down the 'road' so to speak ;)
No restriction on the map size, it's infinite so you can build anywhere based on the terrain layout you like. Or you can terraform it in a number of ways, too if it doesn't exactly suit your plans. We also like the idea of you just exploring and performing jobs to earn more money, like cutting down trees, digging for gold or...earning merit and money for helping out wild animals :)
Cheers Gnome, Yeah it's a strange system Steam has with their thumbnail images and GIFs. It's like they don't physically resize them for the 2 different sizes - grid view and bigger page view. They seem to scale it with an iframe or something so it's not really 'scaled'. I can trick it by making the image slightly smaller than the thumbnail picture but the larger one looks a bit blurry I'm afraid. :0
Looks amazing and yes I second Marcus' comment, thanks for adding us Canadians. :) Surprisingly there's not a lot of us in war games, let alone in WW1 games! Cheers.
Hilarious and congrats on the kickstarter, Jacob. We'll be up there, and Steam this Tuesday. :)
Looks awesome, David. Love the style, I'll definitely check this out.
Uh well that particular Buildanaut is actually...ahem..blind...yeah lol.
Good call, you're right. ;)
Haha yeah I guess it has some Bob'ish qualities ;) Cheers, thanks for the feedback. Look for us on Kickstarter/Greenlight Oct 7!
Cheers.
October 7th for Kickstarter/Greenlight then Early Access for the Alpha/Beta release. PC, Mac and Linux. Then early 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and Wii U.
@rsdworker We'll be launching on Kickstarter and Greenlight soon. So the alpha will be available instantly on certain kickstarter tiers and then on Steam Instant Access after Greenlight. Both we hope to launch before the end of the month!
But yes after the Kickstarter campaign we'll also run Paypal on our site through the humble widget and that will get you instant access to our current build.
Cheers.
Thanks, Seaport. I'm hoping my kids like it more than chocolate lol.
Ha thanks. Yeah I guess I never thought of either of those when I dreamed them up! But now I can see some similarities. :) Cheers.
Looking slick! Love these enemies and the gameplay video with destructable objects.
Like the bold style, are you supposed to be a rat? Hence the low to the ground camera angles?
Looks awesome guys, are all those colourful lights baked?
Congrats, guys. Looks like a great co-op title. Followed you on Twitter. Cheers.
Looks great man! Voted on Steam. Love the surveillance-style you have going on. It reminds me a bit of that iOS zombie game where you're in the plane with different weapons.
