First, I'd like you to calm down, maybe I'm wrong but you seem angry against me for my reply, we're here just to discuss, not to fight :D
Second, I would totally be okey with the militia wearing a breastplate made of iron/steel which would be more protective, but nothing more than that, a FULL PLATE ARMOR, like the one shown in the picture, is strictly reserved to Knights/nobility (in history) because you either need to be able to afford it, be a noble to justify your very advanced rank in the army or show incredible valor in combat (or otherwise), which would automatically make you a Knight. You might not realize it but FULL armor plate costs shitton of money and time (swords who take less time are already a pain in the ***, we find out that Harad, the town smith, has been forging swords for paladins DAY & NIGHT ever since they came, so I doubt he would have time to equip the militia with full plate armors even if they had the money to afford it), even equipping the ELITE of the militia (which in Gothic wear heavy armor too, not only officers, exemple being the patrols in the high town) would cost more than Khorinis's treasury can bear (Khorinis is poor indeed, because the trade has stopped, even food costs a lot). An iron/steel breastplate (aka only body armor) would be a good compromise between the poor financial status of Khorinis and the need of protection of the elites who will defend the town.

Third, you spoke about headgear and asked me to justify why the militia doesn't have any, but can't help but ask myself and you why did you bring this subject? I never talked about it, never said it was wrong and the picture here doesn't even contain headgear so you might say that "by saying no to this armor I'm also saying no to helmets". If Vic7im wants to add them, well who am I to stop him, I even wish him good luck. Then again, there is no need to say that PB made a huge mistake by excluding helmets, because if we go that way, they also excluded shields, horses, pikes etc... which are all an essential part of medieval warfare, however the reason might sometimes be as simple as "no time" or "the producers, being dicks, rushed the game", so instead of blaming PB who made the masterpiece that Gothic is, let's just suffice ourselves by fixing what can be fixed :D

In the medieval era, levies, soldiers and militia usually wore light leather armors because they are cannon fodder, not experienced warriors, you can't spare to equip expensive plate armors knowing a great deal of them would die against orcs. They mostly serve as security, their uniforms serving mostly as a badge of office more than an armor, while still providing minimal protection, as their duty mostly consists in patrolling the city, maybe the island sometimes. (note that the mercenary rebellion was not anticipated, the militia are not warriors and it was not their primary purpose to fight in a battle. It only became a necessity after the orc invasion and the farmers' uprising and it would take a lot of time and money to first train them for that then equip them properly for it)

I understand that it's exciting to get new models but in my honest opinion you shouldn't just forcefully try to use all of them. You might end up ruining it. For example I think this plated armor isn't fit at all for a militia, not even Wulfgar... Just one guy's opinion, you're free to do as you want with your mod ofc.

Hey! I want to point out a small thing you might have missed, but it was pointed out that there are two kinds of orcs. The Southern Orcs (which are present in Gothic and Gothic 2, the wild ones) and the Northern Orcs (which are only present in Gothic 3 and are more civilized and more knowledgeable of the Human language). Maybe read more about it here : Gothic-universal.wikia.com
So perhaps make them two different factions? Also, would be great that ONLY Northerners use mercenaries, because the Southern Orcs never did. However the latest seem to be stronger warriors than the first.
Another great idea would be to include the Southern Islands. I know they're mostly mentioned in Arcania (which many consider to be a Gothic 4, I don't), but they could be interesting, since they have a few interesting factions (County of Stewark, Kingdom of Aargan, Dukedom of Thorniara etc...)

Bloody awesome. I know I am no modeler, so I am just pointing out something, but, if it's doable, what do you think about closing the guy's fists? I'm saying that because that's what's done to all models in G1/G2 for a reason : models don't change when you draw your weapons, and (I think) it would be weird to see your sword floating within your open fist while you don't hold it. :)

I think words really aren't enough to describe the hype that I have and the support i'm ready to give this project. This is basically a child's dream being realized you're literally giving us what Piranha Bytes failed to deliver after Gothic 2 Night of the Raven (Gothic 3 was awesome but it could've been much better, it unfinished due to the devs being rushed sadly).
Just to make this short : You have my allegiance, my loyalty and my full support for this mod and I hope from the bottom of my heart that this becomes as successful as possible.

You need but to adjust the armors' skin's textures to make it fit the face textures. Appart from that, awesome.
