That's great! We're excited to start bringing the community on board to help us develop things further :)
Ps. We love The Coral Cave also! Great to see you here on IDB. Congrats on reaching the top 100 :)

Thank you for the kind words! Stay tuned for our next IDB post in which we'll be exploring our updated environment art in more detail :)
Thank you! We have a few more detailed posts lined up as we push towards release - Clive.
This looks fantastic - tracking!
Thank you - and good luck with your campaign!

Aww wow - thank you zurumen.
We are very excited to finally be on Greenlight!
News post coming soon too ;)
Great article Steven! I had alot of fun playing To-Tum at Dare this year; the new controls worked really well but you still managed to retain that simple-yet-deep gameplay from Kuria. I love that feeling of having to rotate my brain each time I play. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Clive.
Thanks for your support Isaac! Glad you are enjoying our posts :)
Thanks Isaac!
Hope to write a brief version of these tips at some point too.

I think it's genuinely interesting to see a narrative-driven game on Steam early access.
Over the last few years I've been mulling over in my head the idea about whether or not story-based games could succeed in this respect (having been an avid reader of many of the posts on the Frictional blog) but, in reality, a story-driven experience could surely also be improved through early player feedback just like a more gameplay-driven game.
Perhaps replayability will be an issue and initial responses from players may be more valuable than their 2nd playthrough? Not sure. At least this will give you access to a larger pool of testers: let us know how you get on.
Best of luck with this - following!

Great post Steven!
Love your modular approach to development: this is a great approach for To-Tum and also opens up the opportunity for a level editor too if you wanted to take it that far.
Shame Unity doesn't support nested prefabs but I believe alot of devs have been asking about this so hopefully they'll add it at some point. Makes sense really.
Clive :)
Hey Nicolas,
Thanks for the kind words!
We have some musical 'teasers' in the first 3 of our videos here:
...but these are just allusions to the overall soundtrack which is quite varied. The idea is each chapter of the game has a distinct focus and associated soundtrack/ambience.
All music and sound effects are currently being provided by Peter Satera who is also working on the animations for the game:
You'll probably get to hear a longer track from the game alongside our first proper gameplay trailer.
Clive.
Thanks again for the kind words :)
Stay tuned for more info as we'll have alot more exciting stuff to share over the next few months.
Clive.
Thanks for the kind words!
So what you are looking at here basically is the puzzle interface. The aim is to discover asterims by following your compass and then create a constellation that invokes certain behaviour in the sea-life and other game world elements.
The puzzles start out quite simple and then things get more dynamic/varied as you progress.
The game world itself is also a gigantic puzzle!
Clive.
Fantastic news!
Played one of your earlier demos a few months ago and found this really enjoyable. The art and gameplay synch up nicely. Congratulations on your [imminent] release!
Clive.
Great article Jess and very thorough! Would you say you are preferring working with Unity overall compared to the Abertay framework? Great idea to keep things modular as it will help you react to design feedback much quicker.
Clive.
Fantastic stuff! Hoping to get there this year myself so hopefully get to check DSM out :)
Good stuff! Hopefully get to give To-Tum a try then :)
Yeah man I hope they get some details up soon as I'm hoping to get there with Obs. this year. It's a great opportunity for indies.
Clive.
Great article Steven!
Also great to hear that playtesters are really understanding the concept.
Do you think you'll be heading to Dare in Dundee this year?
