Your article about Tower57's KS campaign was awesome. We launched Rogue Invader on KS last Tuesday and have seen similar slowness and lack of interest from the big sites that we expected to support us. Do you have a list of the facebook groups for indie gamers/devs that you posted on?

We're beating our brains trying to think of more things to do, and you helped a lot. Thank you.

Just FYI, we took down the demo for the time-being. The game has changed so much (for the postive), that we felt it was unwise to continue to have it available. We will post a much-improved demo by 10 August.

Keep an eye out for extra news as well. :)

We've got some SICK stuff waiting for the right date to tell you.

We're aware there is a slight learning curve and some things you have to intuit right now. Because this is an early build, please be patient.

If you can't launch, see above. If you want to make more mods, press E over chunk and guns that are thrown from broken rocks and dead aliens, then press T to teleport them back to the carrier. They will appear in your inventory there and can be used to build mods in the forge.

A few people have asked about how to go to the surface. Be sure to build pistol and rifle chassis in the forge. click to go right, click top left. Then click on pistol and rifle to build.

Select these to be part of your loadout and you can launch with no issues.

Don't forget to beam scrap back to your ship to build better mods!

That's a really good observation and a common one. One-bit graphics aren't about lacking crispness. We built the game at 1280x720 (typical 720p resolution) because we wanted to see a similar look to old-school games, but without the clunky interactions. Crisp images is something we strive for at every level: in code, in graphics, in sound, etc.

A note on one-bit for the inner nerd: In one-bit, every pixel is either black or white. There is no grey or "degree of whiteness." This is what defines 1-bit, not how blocky the image looks. Thus a 4k screen could be used to portray an image that looked greyscale, but wasn't because the pixel density is so high.

To be honest, I double took at the waving flag in the flyover scene of the teaser because it looked so close to greyscale, but our artist showed it frame by frame, and I could see the grey was actually pixel density of only black and white pixels, and not "degrees of whiteness."

I hope that makes sense. I guess I wasn't as clear about that point as I thought I was in the article.
