Just downloaded it today and blasted my way through the available levels. I have to say I really like how the space background looks and that warp / acceleration effect is pretty cool. Overall, I quite liked it.

Hey mate, just a quick question: why don't you want to at least consider a KS campaign ? Ask for a small amount, something that would give you the impulse to keep working and improving the game until it gets to be the best. Something like 20k would be enough for you I reckon and that would also allow you to get more art for your game etc.
At least think about it. I just don't see how this could go wrong. Ensign is your baby and you should keep at it until it grows into a hot sexy woman along the lines of Jessica Alba :D :D

I'm lovin' the customization options you have for ships and stations. I really hope your campaign is successful.

Just because some ppl can't get around to install a mod doesn't mean the mod is faulty. Sure it's a got a bug here and there, all mods do and that's why it's called BETA, cause it's under development. This is a great mod with loads of content. For someone with such a huge pc experience as you claim to have you sure don't know your way around a simple software. Many ppl have played this mod and they liked it. With that being said, you can now go and play some other mods that are easier for you, this mod is for real players !

A must-check for any Freelancer player ! See ya in space ...
