Quest for Infamy Linux Demo

s_d Blog

Graphic adventure game veterans Infamous Quests just released an expanded demo for their Kickstarted creation, Quest for Infamy. This time, a native Linux port is included, both 32 & 64-bit! Download it if you fancy a hilariously ribald and twisted take on the style of graphic adventure pioneered by the classic Quest for Glory series.

Studio directors Shawn "Klytos" Mills, and Steven "Blackthorne" Alexander stated:

Infamous Quests is pleased to announce the release of Quest For Infamy - Demo 2.0. - the demo will be released on Friday, February 8th
...
QFI's new demo incorporates improvements based on suggestions by you, more art and improved music and sound FX!

We have new backgrounds in game from Elissa Ng, Ivan Ulyanov, Matt Oates, Jason Lamb and Jon Stoll! These artists have been toiling very hard over the past months to make QFI a visual treat, and we hope you like the new areas to explore, and the art this group has created to take you there.

James Mulvale has remastered all of his compositions and has them sounding better than ever. We have over 10 original compositions in this little demo - and the full version of the game promises more, including several "performed" songs as well.

Later, they stated:

Hey backers - The Quest For Infamy Demo 2.0 is LIVE now at www.infamous-quests.com and www.QuestForInfamy.com

Right now, we have it for PC and LINUX. A Mac port will be coming shortly!

The Linux community really stepped up to help make the Linux build happen, as IQ are a small team. Should be a nice treat for fans of adventure games!

Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption

s_d Blog

For those who care (read: nobody) I'm currently supporting Lori Ann and Corey Cole, creators of the wonderful Quest for Glory series of adventure/RPG hybrid games, in their Kickstarter quest for glory!

They want to build a more RPG-focused spiritual successor to the QFG series, and have entitled it Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption. They've teamed up with Brawsome (the studio who built Jolly Rover and MacGuffin's Curse) to do the story justice, and they've definitely caught my attention. It's intended to be a story-rich RPG with strong adventure puzzling elements (i.e., many ways to solve obstacles, other than combat grind, as well as puzzles that go far beyond tiresome fetch quests). With strong dialogue, and tons of humor, I think it's going to be something special.

The project is hugely important to me, and hope that anyone reading this might take a look at the project and at least tell some others about it, if they can't or don't want to back it. It funded successfully back in November 2012, and will be releasing on Win/Lin/Mac. Want to help make it better, buy some cool swag, and even be in the game? Hero-U can still be backed via PayPal on it's website!

YAY!!!

After literally days of waiting, I've been accepted into the Linux beta... excited to start playing games, pushing the interface & finding bugs!

:-D

P.S. The 300-character post minimum, while intended to improve web log content, is also annoying, and in this case, contributed only to this post-script.
