What version of Windows are you running? Windows 8 might be playing up with the older version of Caveman Craig as we built the game for preWindows 7.

Hi mate. Sounds like a corrupt save :( It happens on the odd occasion. If you start the level fresh, then re-save.

There are a number of rewards you can use to help take down checkpoints. Try meteor strikes or flaming rocks.

In the upcoming free DLC (ugh, it's taken so long..) you can press W twice to throw rocks instead of having to get the timing right between W and Spacebar, so that's a lot less annoying.

Indeed only the most exalted of cavemen, e.g Craig, can brush the holy statues with rocks.. or something. :) But there are definitely ways to crush through them with ease with a bit of reward trickery.

If Caveman Craig 2 were released on Steam, and we have the power to hand out keys, then absolutely.

Hi mate, you'll need to tell us exactly what is happening so we can troubleshoot the issue.

That's odd - sounds more like a Desura issue. Could you contact them? If you delete all the game content for both full and demo versions, then redownload just the full version, it should work.

Well, we are all in different situations.
Some people have the time and money to be doing projects such as 3079 in their spare time. Of course, it's more likely that 3079 is an investment - it is free so that the developer has a fanbase for his next projects, which may not be free. Alternatively, he might have a different income model - such as through advertising.

I have been making free games all my life; but now I have bills to pay and very little time. So while I love making games, I cannot afford to unless we have sufficient funding. With that said, the IUP funding goes towards potential expansion of Caveman Craig 2 specifically. It will help us to weigh up the possibility of investing time (and money) into downloadable content, porting to other platforms, and so on.

I don't think Vista would be the issue. You'll need to contact us with any information you have on what's happening on your computer so we can troubleshoot it.

If they're not safe, you need to make them safe.. there are lots of rewards that can do that, and just having some hunters around will protect them. So we won't add that function for that reason - but yes we do listen!

Hi mate - we listen to everything people say, but there's only so much we can do before we're just wasting our time :)

Are you fully training your hunters? I.e rocks AND clubs? You can click on cavemen to make them follow you, then click on them again to make them go away. If you only take SOME of your troops into battle and leave some behind, those left behind can protect your hunters/gatherers from dinosaurs.

We'll definitely be adding more content in the future.
You can fund the further development by contributing $5 or more to the Indie Underdog Pack - Iupbundle.org, which includes 6 really great games (including the special edition of Caveman Craig 1!).

If you play "Classic" mode, the game never ends so long as Craig is not killed :)

You can change graphics settings in the settings menu.
You can use the Arrow Keys or WSAD to control Craig. Other than that we felt that most people would be happy with this config. If requested we can provide patches that rebind the controls to other keys, to accommodate a DVORAK keyboard, for example.

Understand the comments re: throwing rocks. What do you find annoying about ducking? (You don't have to duck!)

Just some thoughts..

Cavemen do go to sleep by themselves, but only once they are very tired. Otherwise you can either force them to sleep OR schedule their sleeping patterns via their caveman stat window.

You can buy teacher rewards (you have to unlock it first!) to teach new cavemen who are standing near them.

Otherwise, essentially you need to work out your tactic for training cavemen later on in the game when it becomes more difficult to do. A simple strategy would be to buy the same type of caveman in bulk - get 10 hunters. That way you're teaching 10 at a time, for the same amount of time spent training 1.

It would be great to be discussing these tactics in the forums as everyone has interesting ideas!
